I forgot to mention that besides having a miserable AR of 40, Hawadeths form figs were -700!

Would any off the horses in the race have been backed from a vdw point of view,I think not.But remember CONSISTENT HORSES win when factors are in there favour,Which has again been evident over the last week. ![]() |

Investor,
Thankfully like Monkerhostin, Hawadeth was not a form horse imo. ![]() Gummy, Please check the drains! |

LOL But Monkerhostin had form figures of 132.Theyr'e not all backed (from a vdw perspective). As long as you keep reminding of these donket's that turn up now and again,I'll put you straight on consistent horses.

Venitia Williams has Thesis as top weight and is also running Avitta at 10-8. I don't believe this is compression but rather just to get a pace setter but as it's a class C I thought I would mention it. I do believe Thesis is giving away too much weight to Goblets of Fire, McBain and Sir Laughalot. Take them and throw in Cupboard Lover returning after 2 years off and things start to get interesting. |

Avitta isn't a qualifier for me as it's up in weight since it's previous run, which I consider contrary to the logic.

Papillon De Iena 330Wi definitely looks like one.

Havent' much time to go into reasons but Papillion hasn't had the trip before so a no bet for me. Dangerously Good is the one I will have a small interest on. |

JIB,
Don’t want to put you on the spot, but is there any chance you could explain a bit further about it not mattering if the horse used for compression runs or not. I assumed the idea was that the trainer could pick which weight his fancied runner carried with this technique. If he withdraws the higher weighted horse doesn’t the trainer risk the weights being raised if other high rated horses are withdrawn by their trainers and therefore bringing others into the handicap proper? |

Bream,
Once the weights are published they arent changed again if there are any withdrawals. Big races have their weights published a few days before the off. Other races close at the 24hr declarations stage and the weights published in the newspapers never change. The trainer does have to explain himself in these situations but any old guff seems to suffice! |

JIB,
Thanks for the reply. I see , I think I confused myself because I was thinking of races like Killeshin’s where the weights where raised 7lb. |
