I see Forest Gunner was more like Forest Gump and kept on running. Never seen a 7/1 Favourite before.
I don't know if this is a quailifer or not but I was looking at the 2:20 @ Aintree on Sunday and quite fancied Ardent Scout. It would appear that Artic Jack may have beeen put in as a compressor. Lto at Carlise on going soft over 3m 3f just beaten on the run in. Was at 10st 6 then. In that race Tipsy Mouse may well have been a compressor. Up a class tomorrow but 6lbs lower than last run. Jockey also claiming 3lbs. He really couldn't be lighter unless they piped helium up his arse. For me it's one of those ones where I would rather have a better jockey on board and carry 3lbs extra. |

Mikey, I'm on a diet at the moment, thank you for a great idea! I wonder if I fart it will come out like Pinky and Perky! |

I've just read through this interesting thread and I think it might be important for the lower weighted horse to be the younger, though there was a winning exception. As far as I recall there've also been no winners highlighted in A class.
Ardent Scout's race is the 2:45 at Aintree (not the 2:20), it'll be interesting to see how it goes. |

Oh dear, I have Takagi and Double Honour as possibles for that race, but not enough confidence for me to be backing any.
I'll watch with interest. |

There are some other winners on another thread, don't know if you have seen them. Worth noting if the age. Two fallers this weekend...thats jumping. |

Hi epi -
Good to see you back. Tho'rt the "Typhoon" had "Done for you" !!! Did you have fun ??? Been lots happening on the thread, and it is well worth reading at the moment - at last we have got away from the "Ouzelum Bird " syndrome - well, - with the odd exception ![]() |

Thanks, I had excellent fun. We missed the first plane due to the typhoon and the next time we tried there were a bunch of earthquakes, however we were okay. |

The questions for me at the moment are, up to how many points off the limit should the higher weighted horse be and what should the minimum weight difference between the stablemates be. There are three winners from selections posted that I cant accept; Carte Diamond was too close weight-wise, Perouse on the 6th was one of three entrants which to me is too unclear to demonstrate a strong intention, Team Tassel was the elder horse. Spanish Don and Armaturk are uncontroversial winners, Monkerhostin and Tregastel are the most acceptable losers, and there are a further five unacceptable losers. All this is of course dependent on my own ideas and arguements against are welcome.
There are two qualifiers today at Southwell: 12:00 We'll Meet Again 3:30 Efrhina The latter is a bit iffy weight-wise. |

I only back them in the better races Epi
Class C plus. Not sure about any filters because we have very little to go. There was a 100/1 winner about 5 weeks ago on the flat..in a decent handicap but I can't remember it's name now. It was mentioned by me about half an hour after the race lol..on teh VDW thread somewhere. |

This is an interesting one as this is only the second time Blue Patrick has ran under Ryan. At 8-11 with a 7lbs jockey claim will be lighter than has been in the last 2yrs during which he won at todays distance and at a higher class.
Trainer and jockey also 5/17. |

6th
Comments in running :- held up, pushed along 5f out, stayed on approaching final furlong, never near to challenge Who knows what the intention was there. The compression horse, Climate, ran in last. ![]() |

the reasoning behind ONLY using decent races is that it's worth going to the trouble of entering both horses if a decent prize is on offer.
if the lower grade races show a profit I'd be surprised. Wait for the better races would be my advice..leave it with you |
