I've been looking at tonight's Epsom card so I'm going to put up a few selections and would be interested if anyone has a VDW or trainer-intentions based viewpoint.
7:25 Habanero looks the best bet but Mbosi is worrying so the stake would need to be split (no bet for me).
7:55 Looks a one horse race so as long as Imitiyaz is better than evens it's a bet.
8:25 I cant see an alternative to Realism but I dont find it very convincing, maybe a bet (in theory) at 2-1 or better.
8:55 I dont find any attractive but for the sake of arguement I would go with Lord Of The East.

Epi,

These Condition races are ones to treat with caution - like the 7.55 they often have small fields and short priced favs. I think Fruhlingssturm is interesting and could be a danger. But for me these are races to leave alone.

I am no expert, so please dont shoot me down in flames, I also think the Imtiyaz looks a good thing in this, but someone pointed out to me that Philip Robinson is there for one ride only tonight, and that is in the same race.

There is money for his horse - Frumlingsstrum.

So I am not as convinced about Imtiyaz.

Musing after the event Big Grin, would the S Suroor horse Imtiyaz be up for this race 8.55 Epsom tonight?, he`s won much better prized races than this almost ala Sulamani yesterday. What odds both horses winning better prized races than they have just been beaten in the last few days later on in the season?.

GUEST
As you're looking in, for at least the 3rd time within a week, I began to wonder why?
Either you are not happy with your present situation; or you are?
One look would give cause for doubt, three+ looks puts it beyond doubt.
Obviously, neither your view of the method, nor the breakaway thread, is giving the answers you purported to have.
Where does that leave the rest of your followers?

Johnd,

Hasn't it crossed your mind that Guest and others, may just be checking or rereading old posts? They were closed to us for a long time. I suppose it maybe to gain some of your well thought out at ideas, but I suspect not.

Be Lucky

    Mtoto,
I am sure that our erstwhile companion Guest is vitally employed in the most advanced schools of horseracing thought, but it would be nice if he could remember his once intimate companions with a 'hello'.
If here at least the VDW argument is stumbling its way forward from the confines of the class/form horse, perhaps if not helpful, he finds our musings amusing?
Perhaps the recent arguments are of no use whatsoever but surely he was amongst the first to be rewarded with the old posts on the CD whose intelectual property has never been adequately discussed? (the contents of which remaining a mystery to the majority of posters to this thread.)
Whatever your influence over him may be, perhaps you could lend your voice in persuading him to recognise his past association with this forum and at least palm us off with a brief nod of his regal head.

Exactly...we have to work without rules in order to find out the rules of what we have done.

A real question though is whose power will "legitimate" what we have done as the right way of doing it? Certainly not VDW himself.

Walter,

"The class/form horse seldom fails to win when the prize is big enough", is what VDW wrote, and so I think you'd be right in what you've posted.

That aside, the best recent piece of form on offer, from a VDW stance was Fruhlingssturm's beating of Naheef. Given that it was his seasonal debut last time out I felt that he had a very good chance of winning the race on merit.

Apologies, my last post seems rather out of place - I feel as if I've just walked out of the saloon and stepped into the middle of a shoot-em-up.

My money's on the sheriffs' men.

(That is sheriff - as in: person in charge of keeping the peace of Wild West town.

Not to be confused with sherif: Descendant of Muhammad through his daughter Fatima)
