    TC,
I didnt bet it, as I only wrote it up as an example of how the 'human' factor is a bulldozer next to the wheelbarrow of horseform.
Personally I thought Mr Nicholls would wait for a bigger prize at a better price, but I live 6000 miles away so what do I know?!

Neither did I !-

Like you I thought there was a Better prize to be won !!

I listened to too many opinions and backed cape st vincent !!

Just goes to show - You should go with your first instincts !!

It was quite possible to back both Nichols horses, - with the much abused "Dutch" !!

Wot would VDW have to say ????

Exponents answers please ?????

The first race at Sandown has some interesting placing. Maybe Whistler will be the one to benefit?

Hi JD

Was that just your personal choice or was there something to point you to the winner?

There were things that pointed to the winner, equally there were things that pointed away from the others.
Recently the horse had shown its best form with cut in the ground over a stiffish 5f. Perhaps Epi could explain why his last run was in completely different circumstances?

Epi
The going changed appreciably in this race from the time of the declarations up to the off, yet there was only one horse withdrawn. Surely there is a message in there somewhere?

I should have looked further into it as i see now that the easy courses of Chester and Warwick did not suit and putting it back over a trip that it had won before,I was on the fav as it seemed to be knocking at the door in recent runs and down in class today,I never noticed the going had changed,Too many distractions today

Johnd: Are your questions in your last post concerning the Sandown race or the Epsom? I've just got home so didn't have a chance to look at the Sandown race earlier.

Come on lets have a stab at the Coral Eclipse!:
Rakti, Refuse To Bend, and Powerscourt were at their peak lto and will be just that little bit off to make them vulnerable.
Warrsan has been off long enougfh to have recovered but doesnt convince that there is more to come.
Salford City isnt good enough, neither is Kalaman
IKHTYAR was honed on his lto and at 4 yo has plenty of more to come and my selection.

Timeform have Salford city on the 50 to follow annd could be a bet,
Over a mile got outpaced and ran on 1 out,(needs further),Trainer sends him over 1 1/2 miles and hangs 1 out,(too far)So need to try 1 1/4 miles,Simple Smile

If only it was that easy,Trainer does think alot of him though and is no mug,

Good luck

Interestingly The Old Newton Cup at Haydock was VDW's favourite race & one in which he liked to bet on, have no time to study properly, but it would be interesting to see the C/F in the race.

They are all definitely playing for places behind RAKTI today,I was lucky enough in seeing the horse do a piece of work last week and looked a million dollers (literally).
I am sure Mr Jarvis expressing his concerns over the ground are a precaution should the unthinkable happen and RAKTI does not perform as expected.Remember the trainer comments pre Royal Ascot that proved unfounded which allowed the horse to drift on the exchanges to a backable price.
As far as the rest of the field are concerned they all spot the fav at least 6lb on my estimation and from a whole host of runners who on their best form would finish 2-3 lenghs behind the fav WARRSAN looks to be the standout e/w bet but like I said RAKTI will win today and go onto win the triple crown.

I have a wee sneaky hunch that African Dream will run a big race today, so have done a win & place on him at BF.

I have discovered a new Winner finding Method !!

Just count the number of Sheiks in the Paddock !

You couldn't move for them !!!

Like rmd i thought Rakti was past the post today
dont know where im going wrong Frown. He ran a pig of a race slept in the stalls pulled like the proverbial novice then burned out like a squib up the the hill.Is Sandown that much stiffer than Ascot?.I did`nt go along with the ground thing but maybe i should have?.
