Morning all,

Another attempt to identify the class/form horse which for a novice is a job in itself.

1.50 Utt - only 5 runners but I`m still trying to work out the class/form horse(s)

2.25 Utt - This Is Serious / Streamstown

3.35 Utt - Mane Frame / Vrin

4.05 Utt - Flying Instructor

3.40 Ling - Adiemus.

I might be wrong but I`ll continue the hard work and cross check my findings.

**** heavy conditions at Uttoxeter; I was always led to believe trying to give lumps of weight away in such conditions was very rarely achieved.

Regards, the `determined` novice.

Couldn't sleep again eh Jimmy?

Sorry I only named 66% winners and you and your band of comedians wanted 80%+ this week. Even so, the challenge laid down by 3 Legs did say something about clearing off, or words to that effect.

By the way, you must point me to your posts that gave winners beforehand and made a decent profit.

Get some sleep mate. You need it.

Barney,

The only PB details I`m aware of are in the book titled Betting The VDW Way which was edited by
Tony Peach and obtained from Browzers.

The article evaluates the 1988 Mackeson Gold Cup.
Also mentioned but not evaluated was Nomadic Way`s win in the Cesarewitch.

Hope I`ve helped.

Regards,

Investor;I really haven`t said anything very much about your ongoing debate about Vdw.However,I think it is pretty unreasonable to declare you have private thoughts and hide them in an Forum.I thought the principle of the forum was to encourage open debate and to share thoughts in order for individuals to gain knowledge and improve. It is up to the individual to discard or accept the value of postings. Now if you have private thoughts and do not want to share them this is entirely acceptable but to me ludicrous to talk about them cryptically in a forum. Why not share your private thoughts by E-Mail with interested parties instead of acting like somebody out of an Agatha Christie novel.

Evening all,

Further hard work work was put into my class/form horses and I came to the following conclusions.

2.25 Utt - no bet. Streamstown was conceding too much weight in this ground. This Is Serious on the up and carrying 1 lb less in similar race class. That said, on the book could he concede 16 lbs to TBB in this ground ? No bet.

3.35 Utt - Mane Frame (factors against): Vrin looked good to me and was a bet.

4.05 Utt - F Instructor in my opinion in this ground was giving too much actual weight away; no bet.

3.40 Ling - Adiemus; at 5/2 was a value bet.

Yes 2 out of 2. The down side is no monies invested as this is a paper exercise.

****** confirmation on whether I`m getting any nearer from the `experts` would be greatly appreciated ******

Regards, the `determined` novice

Determined - Adiemus was a good thing and backed by myself, but I left Vrin, though he looked the winner on paper. I also backed 2 others today on what was a surprisingly good day for finding winners in a race.

Your analysis of the National pointed you in the right direction and The Bunny Boiler was a good bet from the probables. Mistletoe had the right credentials also. Many others looked very good today, but I was happy with those 3.

i also thought that there were a suprising number today ademius was very well ridden i thought without making it look to easy.

jimmy, i think your being a little bit unfair to keep getting on peoples backs.

the methods are so strong no-one will spell it out believe me. the pointers though that guest and others have given are massive when you start to look into it a bit deeper.

it doesnt take that long to grasp the basics and other people should not be put off trying to learn

i suppose though that you have had a bet on a few that have been put on here.and while the results maybe worthwhile this particular winner finding method is unsavoury.

Thanks for the feedback.

Can I ask, were the 3 you backed today the 3 named in your latest post as I`m not clear.

To me your message reads that you backed Adeimus plus 2 others. If the 2 others are those named then thanks again.

If the others were not named then thats OK as it gives me the incentive to do further research on todays racing ( and learn even more ).

Regards,

having only been a member for a few weeks this forum has made a vast improvement in my betting strategy and picking winners ,
all the people on the vdw link have something to contribute no matter how small, just a few words of encouragement can put someone on the right path so unless you have something to contribute go back to your other link and take your silly comments with you.

For what it's worth I made Vrim the class/form horse, but as I've said I used a different method to Guest.I didn't have a bet today because of the going, but if I had I would have wanted a better price about him. The same goes for Adeimus I thought they where both under priced and therefore no value to be had.

Guest.

Did the going not bother you? As soon as horses where withdrawn, I decided the going must be a lot worse than that advertised. How can you back horses unless they have proven form on the going? Is that not going against the odds, big style?

Regards
