Historic newspapers allow you to hire newspapers. If you e mail research@research.clara.co.uk telling them what you want and ask for a hire price.

I have studied VDW and although I cannot find the key, what I have done is take the form and sort it in the
way VDW suggested. At the end of the day it is still based on opinion, but I see Hugs Dancer as clear
and Dubaian Gift dutched with Connect.

By sorting the form in this way it is extremely accurate but like the man says its also hard work.
(Hope the tables come out ok)

I have had a good look at the 2 sprints at Beverley and taking the 4.30 first, i would agree with you that Kangarilla has a good chance - i am concerned about actual weight carried, however the horse has ran ok twice with 9-11 so am not 100% sure on this.

Beyond the clouds would have been interesting apart from the terrible draw - will watch this one for next time out.

In the 2.30 i think Danger Over has the best form. The draw is not good though, but as you can dismiss 6 of the runners leaving only 7, maybe the draw may not have such an impact. If a decent price is available i will take this one.

Fulham,

I appreciate that I may have been generalising a little when I said that Investor is the laughing stock of the board. I realise that I can’t speak for everyone but I’m pretty sure that a good few on here are having a laugh at his expense, as he does himself no favours. If there was any other part of my post that you felt was inaccurate then I’d be grateful if you could point it out.

Investor still hasn’t answered my question, which again does him a discredit. After all it was him that remarked about the cost incurred when he punched a hole in his door. You wouldn’t have thought £15 to replace a door of that quality would have been an issue for someone who doubles his bank every month, would you?

This will be my final post on the matter.

Whether my posts are appreciated or not (as if) I like to give credit when it`s due: Chaz`s recent posts have been accurate, to the point, without flannel and above all honest. For that reason I expect they will be contested.

My only regret is his closure on the subject, which is a pity for several of the other thread readers since the subject matter doubtlessly won`t have the wit to keep his head down or his gob shut.

I don't understand what your'e problem is,Iv'e spent the best part of a year shaking of people,Who have given me crap in the past,And then .... me somebody who has not even written 2 words to me starts giving me grief.I'll tell you something a little while back,When things were getting a bit heavy on here i asked Gummy to ban me,Because i was sick and tired of all the flak,Gummy was in delete mode and it must have been disregarded.

Going on to your'e point as to why i need vdw at all,Well i could ask the same question of you,Are you purely vdw I'm not But iv'e followed this thread from the start,I acquired the books i tried to get to grips with the methods and it has taken well over a year to get to the point i'm at now,Prior to that i always used systems by following this thread i understand form a lot betterWhich in turn can only be benneficial to any punter,If there's anything in my writing that doesn't satisfy your'e needs i'm sure you'll let me know. Smile

Hi Determined,
It’s interesting you are going down the historic Newspaper avenue as this is one I looked into a long time ago and found as you have it is very expensive. I doubt very much they will have the papers you are after anyway as the further you go back the less availability they have. I also found they charge a fortune, which is just not worth it, when you can gain most of the information from the form books and with the help of Fulham offering to help with Abilty ratings, I feel this really is showing how good this board is in helping those who want to learn more, good on you, there are certainly many on this board who are helpful, and there is no gain for them monetary or otherwise but in the true nature of VDW, a smile costs nothing !!

On a separate subject which I believe has been raised before, what are peoples views on the comment
“When you have followed the method for some time it is easy to turn back to your records concerning a given horse and it will help to balance respective performances.”

Is VDW saying, looking back on a specific horse’s form from your records and balancing it with the race in hand or is, as is more probable the case he is saying look back on a similar example and see how that resulted and you will be able to balance the race in hand, as in there is no correlation to any of the runners in the race we are trying to evaluate.
Any thoughts.
Cheers Mimas.
