Millenium Dragon & Putra Pekan in my opinion have alot of pluses today. Unfortunately they are not my sort of prices.

My initial view on the 2.45 Windsor was that Lady Links looked a strong bet. Further evaluation of Monkston Point`s form has changed that view. MP was 4th in this race last year trying to give a 4 lbs penalty to Harmonic Way. MP has no penalty today, can win FTO & looks very well placed by the trainer.

Any thoughts / comments would be welcome as usual,

Good luck,

2 Group 1`s in Ireland and a very interesting Listed race at Windsor.

Surely somebody out there has something to say ?

Irish Guineas - given the prices on offer this morning surely there is scope for a book to be had ?

4.35 Curragh - surely at odds against Nayef is a good thing ?

Cheers,

Nice to get some feedback.

Good luck with Nayef.

Everything is in his favour however very heavy conditions can throw up silly results.

That said its the same for them all and he`ll deal it with better than the opposition.

Unfortunately not my sort of price.

Cheers,

In the light of the above comments on the 3yo list, i have just checked last years formbook with the SF set at 100. I found 15 more qualifiers on top of 9 others i had found previously using a slightly different method.

When checking the 15 to see if they disqualified themselevs ie more than 3 runs or winning a race, i found that 9 of them in the next race after they produced their good speed figure managed to win. 5 made it through to the 3yo list as they didn't run again and 1 had more than 3 runs.

Winners:

Nayyel 8/11
Savannah Bay 8/1
Comfy 7/2
Prince Cyrano 15/8
Harry Jake 2/5
Mamool 1/9
Simeon 2/9
Al Mohallab 1/1
Kaieteur 4/7

obviously 3 of them were unbackable

any comments

Andrew

Tony Peach did those interested in VDW a service by bringing together the Sporting Chronicle Handicap Book articles in the two booklets "The Golden Years" and "Ultimate Wheil of Fortune", but one or two of his more recent efforts - such as "Silver Lining" - seem to be of less value and perhaps almost in the "catchpenny" category.

I see from Browzers' catalogue that Mr Peach has recently published a booklet entitled "Systemethod", and was wondering if anyone has seen a copy and, if so, whether it has any relevance to advancing one's understanding of VDW's approach?

Don't waste your money buying this book like I did, I know have the solid opinion that Tony Peach is first and formost a journalist, what he has put in this booket makes him at the very best a mug punter, It's a shame that the only man who had Cha Van Der Wheil at his service learned very little himself, his system/method is based on useing the daily mail and awarding points when a horse fits a certain profile, I did paper trade it for about 10 days, it will take you all day to work it out and all night to reflect on how you lost your money. I have also spocken to a couple of other people who have purchase a copy, and all though I can not speak for them, I can tell you there opinions are on the same lines, very, very disapointing, I will not be ordering anything he writes ever again.

Hi Tommyboy

Thanks for taking the trouble to comment.

Guest drew attention to the fact that VDW prepared a fuller version of "Systematic Betting" which was never published. But its conceivable that Tony Peach might have seen it, and draw upon it in anything he writes. Hence my interest. But it sounds as though "Systemethod" is just Peach being Peach, and thus of no intrinsic interest to students of VDW.

Thanks again.

Hi Fulham/TommyBoy,
I had some letter through the post advertising this recently but after spending my hard earned money on the silver lining I was not going to go down this road again.
As others have said in the past I reckon there is more than enough examples to go through in the VDWtGY's to keep us all up all night burning that midnight oil.
I remember seeing in the advert something about buy it now as it will be sold in a set timeframe as parts of his books are finding there way onto the internet, and I guess they are not very happy about this, which is fair enough. But just the title told me "Systemethod" that this was not VDW but Tony, as VDW never liked the title of systematic betting as he always pointed out his was a method not a system!!
Cheers Mimas
