thanks for your advice.

Now Lago D'Orta has an even more skewed ability rating Smile

Ivestor/Fulham - The idea behind the 3yo list was to strike a horse off the list only after it had been identified as a successful bet. If it won, despite not showing up in an evaluation as a good bet, then it would remain on the list until a betting situation arose, if at all.

Weavers Pride was a good bet FTO this season after a full evaluation was made. This mean't he was taken off the list. Of course he could still pop up in the future as a bet via another approach, but for the 3yo list he has done his job and is crossed off.

Mickeddy,

Thanks for the ability ratings.

Iºve found a pub with live pictures so Iºll be watching the race before I catch my plane and there is a guy in there taking bets.

Is Hugs Dancer in form. With my novice head on he has to be. A very consistent and improving horse last year in some of the toughest races.

Has a racing wgt, trainer flying, will act on the course, etc.

Will be fit enough if good enough.

Has to be first on class/form in my opinion and at the available price is a bet to nothing e/w as I cannot see him out of the frame.

Hi all,
For what its worth I have a short list of three for the Chester Cup and they are, in no particular order:- Direct Bearing, Flownaway and Fortune Island.
Good luck to all, Mike.

Determined,

I'm with you 100%, I can see were Johnd is coming from. I think the flat course will suit better than Newmarket. (in this class)

Be Lucky

Good to see you here again JohnD. I like reading this thread although VDW doesn`t really fire my rockets. For me this is the character/personality thread. There`s some big dicks here, some little dicks and a few, I wish I had a dick, though surprisingly , reading the posts, it`s not at all obvious but it is a little short on C/P.

Barney,

When looking at the dec`s very quickly yesterday I saw Asian Heights as a potential good thing.

What a full evaluation will show is another matter.

**** I see you put up Hugs Dancer on the Tipping Thread. Was he found via VDW ? ****

There`s a question on the VDW Results thread from one of our newbies. Can one of you less self indulgent types tear yourself away from the preaning mirror and do the decent thing.

determined,

hugs dancer was a reasonable wager.it might be worth looking at the difference between him and capricho who was not a bet.

asian heights maybe a good thing, I haven't really bothered looking in detail, but by my calculations, he is not a bet, and is one to let run.

To save time I am finding myself looking for bets that are winners, rather than winners that are not bets.

No disrespect to the poster intended, but if you understand the question and will spell it out, I'm sure that one of the regulars on this thread will have a shot at answering it even if I can't. (On boards like this it is easy to be too brief/cryptic to be properly understood.)

Fulham,

Thankyou for your reply. I have no idea what he`s talking about either but I did think cryptic analysis was second nature to this threads exponents. Indeed the arch cryptic analyst himself managed to sandwich a post between my request and your reply, sadly without any offer of help.

With regard to our newbie (Tubbsy) I have done the obvious.
