Well done with Dr Cool, any chance of you elaborating?
Despite your best efforts, I still screwed up again today with Budelli; I was that intrigued with the training pattern that I didn't really have a close enough look to see if it was outclassed. There was certainly a case for the winner to come under the definition of "placed to win". Ho hum!

the class of the race is not the class of the opposition, i thought you would have spotted the scotts view implications and the subsequent runs when found to be slightly lacking, he came good last time though.

I always feel embarrassed when detailing the gustatory indulgences that we may find pedestrian yet will leave you Brits slavering. Well, cutting to the quick, as you know raw octopus has a tendency to stick in the teeth and bearing in mind that my guest was my dentist's senior technician (add his wife, three kids, my wife and mother, Max's 8) I scored yudedako (boiled octopus). It was presented in a salad with chilled (boiled) brocolli, tomatoes, some kind of leaves and, most importantly, a dressing made by grating 2 cloves of garlic, sousing it in lemon juice and adding just the right amount of runny honey. Of course before that but after the first beer there were various cheeses with guacamole, then some sashimi (baigai and aji), then we got the octopus and something else that neither my wife nor I can recall at the moment. Next, short neck clam sakamushi followed by pork with prunes followed by chicken asari nabe and as if we still had space, apple pie with ice cream. You think I couldn't eat all this, drink all the beer in the house and still be complimented on the beauty of my figure? Wrong, it's a matter of history.

If you read the above you will perhaps understand that I'm not in a state to reply tonight.

Forgot to mention about the background sounds. It's when the heart breaks in Portishead that the garlic kicks the octopus in.
Good luck if you're planning to entertain.

If its of any interest, we had nicely fried cod and chips from the local chippie, followed by some Haagen-Dazs Belgian Chocolate ice cream. Having watched England secure a perhaps slightly fortunate three points against Slovakia (appalling pitch), I'm pondering whether to lay off some more of my bet on Ronnie Moore to be the next Ipswich manager while enjoying a well-chilled Woodpecker cider.

Chacun a son gout, as they say (apologies to JIF, I can't manage the accents in posts like this).

Betting Forecast: 6/4 Millstreet, 9/4 Starbourne, 6/1 Smuggler's Song, 7/1 Diamond Trim, 8/1 Tivoli Garden, 10/1 Dibiya, Kiltubber, Queens Wharf, Sadlers Wings, 12/1 Osprey Ridge, 14/1 Evening Scent, Moonbi Ridge.

Numerical analysis - first 5 in forecast

Horse.................Ability....Cons....Class lto
Millstreet............79.........6*......97
Starbourne............79.........23......876*
Smugglers Song........135*.......6*......239
Diamond Trim..........169*.......22......279*
Tivoli Garden.........84*........7*......458*

Diamond Trim well clear on ability but hasn't run since June. Last year ran in Apr, May, twice in Jun, twice in July, in Aug and Sept (winning at 12f) before winning this race. Has only run over 10f and 9f this season, so going back up to her best trip. I wonder the reason for the layoff - any ideas???

Tivoli Garden is dropping in class from a Group 3 event when 4th over 10f to Irresistible Jewel (since 2nd to Bright Sky at Longchamps in a Group 1), Chorist (8th over 8f in 46k Group 2 race next time out) and Miss Honorine (won 20k listed race next time out). Previously a close 2nd when topweight in a 31k h'cap over 12f.

Smugglers Song was raced 3 times last year over 7f winning a 7k maiden. Ran in Apr over 10f 4th of 7 to High Chaparral on 10k listed race. Then in May, dropped in class to 9k over 12f to win a 4 horse race. Later that month back to 10f to win a 23k Listed race. I don't expect this to win.

Millstreet won a 7k maiden in June and since then has consistently managed to find one or two better in the races. Seems to be 'expecetd' on the strength of losing at 2/5 in a 3 horse race

Starbourne has been consistently beaten 5+ lengths in a string on Group 1 races. Lines through Bright Sky and Irresistble Jewel give Tivoli Garden the edge over her.

I might take Diamond Trim and Tivoli Garden both e/w at the prices

Hanabad certainly looks a pick. Is it a bet at 4/5 though?

I cant find a reason for the absence either.

she could have been saved for this race? injured? who can tell. Thats probably why she's 10/1
