Pancakehill was my initial choice but after looking at the opposition I have to side with Just Nick. I'm not going to bet as there are too many imponderables.

Crock.

Thanks for that, the race now makes sense. I make IQ the class form horse, my way.

Re CP.

Interesting you mentioned St Petersburg. If CP had won the Doncaster race he would have had to carry a 5 lb penalty. If that had been the case would CP have run at Sandown, I don't think so. I think the Doncaster run was a stepping stone to bigger and better races at 12f, he failed so the campaign was re thought. They had time to see the Doncaster winner was better than thought, and acted on it. Finding the c/form horse my way I didn't have the problem of deciding was CP IN OR OUT OF FORM!

Thanks again

Oldtimer, well done with Noble Pasao, I thought the race was so uncertain that I didn't check in any detail. I'm well pissed off.
Barney, the 4:20 isn't a suitable race for me sorry about my previous mistaken post.

Good selecting with Noble Pasao. I had favoured Czarina Waltz, but the number 11 draw put me off, and in retrospect I was correct.

Well done again. About myself, two first impressions wasted by over-thinking. Then again if I over-revue my strategy what will the consequences be? Tomorrow is another day but my yesterdays are gaining the ascendency.

Capricho is undoubtedly the class horse in this race, and in my view is the c/f horse; it would be interesting see what other members think, before the race, of course!.
If anyone would like to give their reasoning, I am sure this would also be constructive.

I have tried on the online but its hard work for me with that so I will wait until the morning if thats ok.

on first inspection a few can be discounted straight away but for some strange reason i keep going back to the bottom weight who i think will be really trying.

like i said will look properly in the morning.

Just a couple of points concerning recent debate.

Firstly I have already held my hands up and realised I made a bad error in overlooking Beauchamp Pilot who was the real 2nd class/form after Kirovski.

Secondly regarding Celtic Pleasure/Amber Valley. It is not just the actual weight carried but how much is given or received also. Was it below par to go down by a length or so giving significant weight to an inform progressive horse ?

Shades of Prominent King and Drumgora there.

One other point of topical interest concerns the race that Wing And A Prayer won when VDW considered him a good thing. Certain persons suggested a fancied horse in this race was pulled by a currently infamous jockey. But if you look at the real class and form of the race there can be little doubt that the right horse won regardless. wink

Two horses that look to be good things at Gowran Park today in my view are Gli Gli and Moscow Express.

Race is about to start, but I can't see why Attache isn't at least as strong as Capricho.

Obviously Surprise Encounter was not out of form despite finishing last of 23 to Millennium Force at Ascot last time. I suppose it did have a chance on its running behind Smirk over 8f at Goodwood. Ah well, it's just another loser to write off to bad experiences.
