I had a long look at Calcutta this morning, small field and fast ground are his ideal conditions for him to produce his fast finish, but he's too close to a couple of others for me.
Good luck anyway.

Potentially a busy day today. Bandari looks to have the aces in the Leger and Calcutta should be spot on for todays race again.

At Goodwood, Moon Ballad is the one with a possible book later in in Smokin Beau/Palace Affair.

Bangor has Virgin Soldier as a good thing.

Today you showed all the attributes of an old hand re your form reading regarding your mention of Jonny Ebeneezer

Guest

Another good day for you and I am not critising at all (how can I)
Its takes a brave man with confidence to put his selections up before the race and you have my respect for that .
I know its all after the event
But if you had used Determined’s way of reading form maybe you would have been a little bit more cautious with Bandari and possibly have gone more in favour of the winner Bollin Eric because the same basic form reading skills apply to that race

Just my opinion understand
And we can all learn from each other “and non of us knows it all”

As VDW said
What they do in the last 2f will give you the answers
What he missed out was the relevance of the distance connected with the above statement
Which could also be applied to the race Atlantic Ace won yesterday

Well done to the both of you

Determined
Did you stick your foot in the water?

YES I MOST CERTAINLY DID.

Played in 3 races today,

- win bet on Balakheri

- 2 win bets on Dream Magic / Don Fernando

- nice e/w bet on Johnny Ebeneezer taking the 33/1 with Ladbrokes.

Needless to say I`m feeling rather pleased with myself.

Cheers,

Another good week for you and all I can say is "long may your posts continue".

Would you mind if I ask a direct question, ie - is your 80% strike rate still on track during this 2002 year.

Cheers,

Just in case anyone is interested I used the MLP method to identify the winner of the 2:55.

In a 10 runner race it has an excellent SR.

Determined - My personal strike rate has improved over the years, but not to the extent it should have given a full understanding of VDWs methods.

In certain types of races the 80% is there, but across the board we are talking high 60s. My view is that the constant 80%+ will only be achieved after many years of experience reading form in VDWs way. Todays leger showed up a tendency to be too optimistic in the form reading. At the time, whilst it was a winning bet when Bandari won the Voltigeur, it was closer than anticipated and he had a hard time to hold on. Over 2f further today it proved too far, but the signs were there and I am just miffed that I didn't head them. The other bets all checked out and on the day Calcutta just wasn't up to giving the weight to Muchea. The past markets proved interesting again.

Well done, perhaps you should go back to sprints. I did have a close look at the horse and I could certainly see where you were coming from but I decided to stick with my original bet. which was definitely not off today. Ho hum.

Well done again today, I had a little on Virgin Soldier, thank you.
With the greatest of respect, Boozer does have a point you know, with all your knowlegde of VDW, you still appear to depend a great deal on the numerical picture, and some of your losing selections could be fairly quickly eliminated by a little lateral thinking.
Please do not take this as a criticism, I admire you dedication and envy your knowledge, and indeed spend most days waiting for your selections to appear, but I honestly think that if you looked at the broader picture a little bit more the world could really be your oyster.
