Hi TC

Thanks for the compliment, but there are better brains on Gummy than mine - JIB, Can-do, Swish and Ftse to name but a few.

My selections do tend to be at the short-end of things anyway, so from what has been written above by yourself, JIB and Seanrua, they wouldn't help to progress the method here in any case.

* * *

And now for something completely different...

For 3 points, who said: "who do that voodoo that you do soooo well"?

And for 1 point, which film did it come from?

BlackCat Smile

I've not seen Starlift. So that's not the one I'm looking for I'm afraid!

These things have been playing on my mind…

1. A Bet

I have been thinking about your post. It was, according to you...

"...rated 156 by Topspeed lto, and that it was well clear of the rest of the field. !!!
In addition - on Gummies 'Top 10 Selections' - It was 'Number 1' !!!
It was also 'Adrian Masseys' Top Rated ! and Was also his 'Max' rated !!!"

And you put it in a multiple bet.
You put it in a multiple bet!
YOU PUT IT... lol lol lol

If it was such a stand out, sore thumb of a bet... why would you do that?
Did you not work out why Tikram could be ruled out? Smile

2. Back-fitting

You say above "As I say - it works on the races that you 'Aftertime'

Perhaps my memory is not what it used to be. But I don't remember after-timing any selections within this VDW forum.

I do sometimes add a selection to one of my system result lists – usually when I have not been able to post – and only a few - and as many losers as winners! But never in the way I take you to mean from this sentence.

I have never after-timed a VDW-style winner on here that I can recall.

Please be kind enough to refresh my ageing grey cells, and show me where you think I have done this. Eek

Interesting Quote i noticed on M Pipe's site Big Grin

Tresor De Mai Carryonharry

Sandown - 3.45pm

This looks a hard race to solve. Tresor De Mai with 11-12 looks to have too much weight, good to see Rodi Greene back on board. Carryonharry could run okay but we should have won enough money by the time this race comes up!

BC,

Just to clarify: I don't care about tips or whether they were long or short on price.

However, I would love to know the difference between a

"VDW racing certainty" of a favourite

and just any other old favourite.

Dunno really why I want to know this, and I'm not asking anyone to tell me here and now.

All I would ask is, if your study has enabled you to distinguish one from t'other ( a good thing, and fair play to you), then could you give any more specific directions to the rest of us?

BTw, have Investor and crew all jumped ship to board RSUK?

Hi Boozer

I am beginning to suspect that the film that I am thinking of must have stolen the line in question from one of your suggestions, as you seem sure. Therefore before putting you (and me) out of our misery, I will give a couple of clues.

The film is a 1974 comedy, and not at all politically correct, (although very funny nevertheless).

* * *

Hi Seanrua

I am not a VDW expert. I'm learning too. All I have done is to apply the usual factors to the race. CR, AR, support of two other ratings, value and distance LTO. Only when all line up would I consider it a selection (imo).

I have no idea if Investor is going to post back here or not. (If you were him - would you?)

Harvey Korman

Bestist funniest film I darn ever seen.

The PC brigade should take some notes from it!!!

...and why dont they bring back the "Black and White Minstrels" on a Sat. night? - darn spittin' good they were too.

No, BC, if I were Investor I would never post here in the first place.

What would be the point?

He's a highly successful pro-punter who can understand and use VDW.

What can he gain from any here? Few ever agree on anything tangible, and that includes the other successful operators.

It's different for someone like me who has something to look for. I'm like a pig searching for truffles; only problem is I may be in the wrong forest altogether.

Investoe would spend the time better by taking his new car for a full valet. He's got the answers already, so doesn't need to waste his time.

Hi TC

Noted. Cheers.

Hi Trojan

Correct. All four points. I feel sorry for Boozer, as I think the question may have multiple answers. Never mind eh? Smile

Hi Seanrua

As TC said yesterday, it's not magic. And VDWers can't agree. However, using these few basic principles and not frittering stakes anywhere else is working for me. It's taken me a while to do this, and I am enjoying winning for once!

Good luck all. Hope it lasts. Eek

Next great one-liner:

"Is this a piece of your brain?"

(This one is not necessarily from a film this time)

So, what show/film/TV prog. was it on, (1 pt) and who was it said to (3 pts)?

Hi BC,

Well done on your success - glad to hear you are on the winning trail.

A pure guess this one, it sounds like something Basil would say to Manuel.

So - Fawlty Towers, Manuel.
