Hi Investor and Ectoo

It seems the problem faced is the increasing cost of hosting the forum. Ever increasing posts means more space used on the hosts servers and therefore more cost to Gummy, to a level where it is now deemed necessary to look elsewhere for messageboard host.

What is possibly required is that people who have posted here (and wish to continue to do so) pledge some small financial commitment. (50p per week has been suggested by one forumite - not an official figure, but a sensible suggestion I thought).

From what I can gather, whether the eventual sum required will be needed as a regular payment will depend upon the eventual solution.

I am sure I am among many who would be sorry to see the current archives lost. And to that end, I would be prepared to make contribution when a rescue plan has been proposed.

In view of the above, those who currently have not made a donation may wish to consider doing so.

I'm more than likely going to annoy you now (i hope not) the only thread i have ever really been interested in is this one.Unfortunately is has got to the point where there are very few ofhe original vdw'ers left.It saddens me To think that this great website could be lost forever.But i won't be contributing anything.It will be a great shame to see the website go but i will be overjoyed when this thread goes,If that comes accross as being heartless then i'm truly sorry to you all,But i speak my mind and that is the way i feel.

Not sadly believe me.There are some very good contributors to this thread,But the likes of you will NEVER enter that category.I don't give 2 ****s what you or your cronies think of me which i have said many times in the past.I personally wish you Could contribute on a constructive basis,Which of course you can't.

Personally, I thought Well Chief was a VDW type selection, but not at the odds offered. I didn't back him... other than to make him my selection in Ftse's NH competition.

As you know VDW didn't always stick to the first 5/6 in the forecast as Desert Hero, Son Of Love, and Love from Verona show. Also in the Pegwell Bay example Bishops Yarn c/rating 7 (one of the 3 most consistent) wasn't in the forecast. Warner for Leisure c/rating 6 also not in the forecast, why is one included but not the other? Is this a case of the 'other considerations' coming into play? If this is based on VDW's form reading why include Townley Stone who he was far from impressed with? Perhaps it is something to do with having a high a/rating? If it was, isn't this another example of this rating not doing it's job?
