Whatever your researches show, it is quite clear, to me anyhow, that consistent form does have an important part to play in the method.
Not just from instinct, and possibly a slightly better understanding of the rationale than some, but also from my own modest researches in the right kind of races.
Again this weekend, the 3 most consistent from the first 5/6 in the betting nailed 4 winners from the 5 suitable races at Cheltenham,(Possibly only robbed of the clean sweep by Europa stumbling on landing?), the winners of the only 2 other worthwhile races on Saturday, and again today, 2 winners from 2 races.
As with most other things VDW, approach it in the right frame of mind,and eventually the benefits will become apparent; approached from a negative viewpoint, it will only bring forth more negatives, but that is true in almost every field.
Could I suggest, as an experiment, that yourself, or anyone else with RSB or similar, put in, for instance, the 3 Championship races at the Cheltenham Festival for however long their data goes back, using only the criterion of the 3 most consistent from the first 5 in the betting, and post the results on here.
I am not a stats person, and have no real idea of what the outcome would be, but I strongly suspect that consistency may begin to take on a new meaning for some.

I cant do it at the moment as I need to reconstruct the databases as I work without Foreign races as rule, which would chuck out a false result in some cases.
I dont think it could be done with RSB
as its pretty rigid.
