Doyen is fairly safe lay, you dont back nowt coming back in trip, unless its coming back from better horses to its optimum.

Well done mate,if you remember i gave a fairly small list of horse that have done well in a particular race.Today it was Calcutta's day for the third time (i think) Ran lto in a 6 grand claimer at york (prep race) and winning at 11/4 and 6 days later put in for the "prize".Every angle must be looked at.

I understand where you coming from re the distance,But let's look at it from another point of view (not to take anything away from mtoto) Azamour was a miler,And is bread to stay a mile This was a big factor against American post in the derby(remember Linamix and Zoman) Azamour had good form the only blot being the newmarket run but at 25/1 he wasn't expected.I accept your view about the distance but i still wouldn't have had the bollocks to lay Doyen.

Fair comment,And i'm sure mtoto will comment.But that has no bearing on wether you thought grey swallow or Doyen were form horses,Simple question really mate,The only cast iron good thing today and i don't think many would have backed it at the price anyway was of course Soviet song but not at 8/13.Sorry T.c but i'm sure most would have seen that one anyway.

Some really enjoyable racing today and nice to see that the new, simple ratings had a successful start with the winner coming from the top three rated yet again!

I thought the firmish ground was more of a prob for Quiff than the distance, and old Fallon didn't get it quite right, either.
The winner was good, however, and McEvoy rode well.

I wish I'd spotted Tuppeny's Colisay and Mtoto's Azamour. Nice winners, lads!
