3 most consistent from first 5/6 in betting

No suitable race today. The 3.15S is given a swerve as the small field may give a false result.

Lee
I had Stretton as the class horse for this, and a number of things point to his being poised.
However, the small field, and his poor strike rate, make it a no bet race for me.

John,

I have Stretton ‘out of it’ and this looks another opportunity for the likely short priced favourite, but it won’t be carrying my money.

A nice colt who only ran once as a 2yo over 7f, and it says a lot that he didn’t make the winners enclosure during his maiden runs.

4 races today, but 2 discarded. The 7.45 Newm. is a 'C' in name only, and the 8.15 is a conditions race. Interesting that the trainer of Balmont openly states that he is using the latter race for a warm up.

3.20 Asc.
Khabfair
Blackheath
Jayandjay

3.50 Asc
Celtic Heroine
Coy
Moon Dazzle

My idea of the winners would be Khabfair and Moon Dazzle, though neither would be a bet.

Lee
Nice winner last night!Smile

3 most consistent from the first 5/6 in the betting forecast, Jd you made an interesting comment re strettons win record the other day.
Does the win rate against runs have anything to do with vdw consistency?.

In his book ' A better Bet ' [ published about the same time as VDW's first letter ], Professor Frank George mentioned an American punters system of only backing horses that had won at least a third of all starts.

I believe it was profitable.

Not in the way I think your suggesting.
A horse can run in 20 races without a win, and then find the improvement to win 2 or 3 together. In normal circumstances, those wins would be a much safer guide to its ability than its previous places.
Similarly, a horse can run up a sequence of wins, and then run numerous times without a win, for various reasons. Recent form would normally be the best guide.
VDW once described ability as the element that allows some horses to pull out that little extra when the chips are down. There are a number of horses which no longer show that element, often run well without winning, and are best avoided.

If you wish to start a pre-race discussion, it would be helpful to put up your own thoughts first.
1 winner from 2 is quite tidy, though. Suggest you have a look at Border Subject's form prior to last year's c/d win, and his form prior to yesterday's race.

I see you highlighted the winners of your 4 races yesterday and well done for doing so,
Im a bit puzzled how you managed to shortlist Mutawaqed?,The only bit of form that i can see was the 2nd at epsom but thought York would'nt suit and it would be a better bet at Goodwood next week,

We all haad our different opinions about Attraction's defeat but i noticed yesterday or friday on ATR that the stable reported that she was in season,This could speak volumes as to what is to come
