Thank you for a speedy and effective response to what was in danger of becoming a significant problem.

I have stated before on this thread that any postings that are not in keeping to the subject will be deleted.
I don't like to remove any postings but the postings on the VDW thread have to be about the subject in question and anything else posted will be deleted no matter who it is that posts.

There are a few posts from 3 new members, if you read those you'll see how people with a normal interest in VDW might go about discussing it. We longer term members of Gummy's board have been so bombarded with the bullshit of the VDW pretenders that it takes a great effort for us to imagine that it's a subject amenable to intelligent discussion. Remember recently you said, 'well if no one's interested I won't explain my ability ratings'? It probably never entered anyone's head that there was the remotest chance of anything relevent being explained on this thread, certainly I found your surprise that nobody had asked shocking, it was far less shocking that even after that post nobody asked you.

Further to the above do not post any long messages other than about VDW as you are all wasting your time because I will just carry on deleting them.
I shall be out for the next few hours so I hope I do not come in and have to start sorting through a load of unwanted messages.

i think today is a good example of a horse that has consistent form,But is outside the first 3 consistent and first 4 ability i.e Lingo.

To be honest I don’t remember Mtoto offering to explain his ability ratings. If he is prepared to, I’d definitely be interested because I certainly don’t know everything and I always try to keep an open mind about things I may have missed.

You also said that long term members " have been so bombarded with the bullshit of the VDW pretenders" without actually naming who those pretenders are. If you were to stick to facts, without any recourse to personal abuse, could you have an argument with (for instance) Guest on the reasons that VDW selected any of his bets? I am talking here specifically about VDW’s bets and not Guests selections. If the answer to that is no, then how can you tell if what you read is bullshit? Mtoto doesn’t agree with Guest on some points.The difference with Mtoto is that he does argue from the standpoint of having done his own research and he’s come to different conclusions to Guest but he always states his point in a very civil manner. I’m not sure if I qualify as a long term member? I’m not sure about bullshit but I’ve seen plenty of aggro on this thread in the past and it can detract you from the real purpose of the thread and the posts.

i have respect for Mtoto,The thing is that when vdw wrote his articles,They were HIS ability ratings,When these ratings are combined with form (again vdw's form) from that comes the Class/form horse which is what were looking for.The ability rating isn't flawed it's the form aspect that get's people scratching they're heads.

I have read the postings from the 3 new members. I'm also sure they will benefit from many of the posts on this thread. At least 2 of them may look at VDW through different eyes. Raffingora is well versed with VDW, and it will be interesting to see if he agrees with Guest in all his thinking. The question you must ask is if the VDW methods are straight forward, why haven't more people cracked them. There is far more to it than just taking c/ratings, ability ratings (however they are formulated), forecasts, etc. I think that is what this thread is trying to show.

I really hope with these 3 new members, and the established members, this thread can move on. Some will find the answers that make sense to them, but will it be the findings of the TRUE VDW methods. Even if it's not, but their methods are logical, it will improve their profits from horse racing. For some that is more important than others, but it must be what we are all trying to do.

Use them in a race like the much discussed (after the event ) Broadway Score race
They will come unstuck
Especially backing against horses like Barolo

That is why we have to establish what are form horses,if the horse is out of form,or not a form horse in the context of the race,Regardless of the ability rating it will be thrown out.Don't forget one of vdw's good things RIVAGE BLEU had never won a race.

Couple of points. The ability ratings I use came from VDW, I'm not clever enough to think that up by myself. Why does Guest use a similar rating at the drop of a hat? He says the rating is for unexposed 3 year olds, then uses it for all aged races in Sept/Oct. Why do you think ALL the process you use with the conventional a/rating can't work with the other rating?

Sorry i didn't see the bottom part of your post,I'm not going to say wether i backed lingo because it's after the race,and i don't want to add any more fuel to the fire.

Yes your'e right,It was found by another method,But the other horses he highlighted had won a race at least,Therefore having an ability rating.
