Them false favourites eh.If we take the line through Spinofski it's hardly a shock result. Smile

Sorry, pkboy, I can't even remember who Trevor Hemmings is; too many bangs on the head, I guess.

Anyway, VDWers may or, may not, be pleased to hear that both my VDW attempts on here today produced the winner.
Binanti, I had 13 points clear top-rated,

and, St Matt was well clear too.

I cannot agree with Epi that RS was the VDW pick.
St Matt was far and away the best horse in that poxy jump race.

Hey, what's going on? Have I been indoctrinated by stealth?

Just a minute, while I check for naked ladies.

No, still can't find anything more than a missing screw ( in my brain).

It's quite a frightening state of affairs; I'm getting more winners on here than I am in my proper punting!
Don't it make your brown eyes blue?

Spinofski was the most likely winner,But not a bet imo.But if the temperement had been lacking it would have been quite easy to have had a treble today Binanti being the best of the 3 imo. Smile

Trevor Hemmings is the owner of Tipsy Mouse,(which was running in the main race at haydock)and also the owner of Blackpool Tower for that matter.Pkboy was alertig you to the fact that again there was a false favourite in this race (i think)Well dome with St matthew and Binanti.I gave a quote in a post to epi i will put it here to save you looking for it.

"Consistent form combined with ability in higher class is a force to be reckoned with".This quote applies to both of the above horses and when used correctly won't let you down. Smile

Cheers, Investor.

I don't deserve the credit; just did what you told me, plus

awarded points for C and D

awarded points for any race won in last three runs. E.g.

£7K race, won, then, + 7pts, and so on.

A couple more tweaks to do with last 3 form figs and days since last run, and a check to see whether the animal generally ran on in the last furlong, and that's it - job done.

There was one other broad filter, but I'll leave that out for now.

Btw, if anybody wants to see an up-to-date 80% SR, go to

www.griceorch.freeserve.co.uk

a nice, little but helpful, free site.

Investor,

Thanks for the response re` VDW's ratings.

I'll bare your comments in mind once I start giving the ratings serious thought but for now ( whenever I get any spare time that is )I am still wading through all the old examples trying to establish the common rules of establishing in formness.

As an aside, didn't Hardy Eustace disappoint a couple of times last season prior to taking the Champion Hurdle ?

I was at Wolver today and had a bad losing day as so many favs won.

Incredible as it seems, I did the old VDW type rating for ther best race, and it picked the winner again (I backed the 2nd)!

I know it's way after time but here are this morning's figures:

COMPTON BOLTER 71 won
Black Falcon 66 u/p 4th
Linning Wine 62 2nd
