No you dont. And I expressed myself poorly when refering to your betting, I meant to imply that you only needed to make a profit to satisfy the work you put in rather than any financial necessity. From your posts you have obviously had a successful career that has taken you around the world, and that now being of a certain age and situation you enjoy the liberty to do as you feel fit.

I dont bet large amounts anymore as it doesnt fit in with my reality here. At the momment I am building a third block of two apartments to two existing blocks I have rented out on the same plot of land. Each kitchinette has a 35 sq.mts of internal space that is finished in ceramic tiles and jungle hardwood and in my humb. op. are absolutely lovely. The two kitchenette appartment costs me £6k to build and each unit will be rented out at £80 a month. How on earth could I look my family in the face if I had just put 1% of an appartment block on a losing horse?

Out here there is no weekly giro, you stand on your own feet and take the full consequences of your actions, life here is v unforgiving and someone like our friend I employ on the farm or on building work for £2 a day!
