I note Swish has replied just before me. What he says is spot on. The books I refer to have been put together by others, the majority of the info` is from VDW though.

Hope I`ve not confused you.

Morning all,

Makeorbreak - the 2 books Barney mentioned I firmly believe will help you. There are 2 other books by `B` titled

- Be A Winner

- The Key

The 1st one I would recommend also.

*** from memory earlier in this thread I believe one or two were not too keen on these books. Again from memory I think it was Fulham who thought there were some good points. I have not corresponded with Fulham but his comments I feel are always worth taking on board.

For me they will start to show you how trainers hcap/place their horses.

Regards,

Yes, you are right. I have found Jock Bingham's booklets useful from a number of perspectives.

I've been unable to post for a few days, but see that you are looking for some of the old Form Books. I'm not wishing to breach Gummy's injunctions about advertising, but if you still need any and care to email me I can let you have the name of a dealer who has just bought in a large stock.

Hello All,

Maggsy - sorry for not responding earlier. Yes, I thought Banker Count was the next best after Tiutchev.

Guest - would you mind if I emailled you. I'd like to ask a question about the Class/Form horse, the Class horse and the Form horse. I'll take no response as a no, which I'll fully understand.

All the best

Hedgehog - I don't mind if you want to email me and I'll do my best to answer your questions. The same goes for anyone else, however I must stress that I won't be spelling it all out in private.

Good afternoon,

Your offer to answer questions via personal E mail is very much appreciated and in that I`m sure I speak for the majority.

I suspect you are going to become far busier than you are already. Will there be enough hours in the day ?

That said, I sincerly hope you will still find the time to continue contributing to the thread.

Enough said, I`m off to prepare my 100 questions ( not really ).

Regards,

hello guest i personally felt there was one favourite well worthy of a wager, and i understand why the other races, were won by the horses that won them.a nudge would be grateful r.e the favourite. yours in anticipation investor......p.s all but one race i understood,i would not have singled out stone cold.

Investor - Nosam was indeed a good thing today. Nothing appealed at Newbury, but Stone Cold was backed using the same method as Rivage Bleu, etc.

Just seen the message about books I am not too bothered about advertising in this thread as long as the advertising involves anything about VDW or anything by others relating to his methods.

To be honest I never gave it a thought that giving the names of Bingham`s books was advertising.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I`ll be more aware in future.

Thank you very much guys for all the replies. There is so much good stuff here, there just isn't enough hours in the day (well I should say, in the evening, really!) to digest it all. I am very new in racing (first ever bet was in last August), and found this site last month. My only contribution will be questions (and more questions!), I am afraid.

Investor - Nephite and Sharpastrizam both had factors against and were not for backing today. Stone Cold was found using my interpretation of the Rivage Bleu/Travado/Arthurs Minstrel/etc method. This method has a very different approach to the consistency one and often finds those with unexposed form.

One of the reasons VDW devised a number of methods was to enable him to crosscheck his findings.

Morning all,

Do we have a class/form horse with all factors in his favour ? Yes or no ?

Top ability with 128 ( 17 points clear of nearest rival ).

Consistent and in form of his life.

Highest class winner this season.

Course - distance - going - jockey = all OK.

Added to that down in class today.

**** OR upped 12 lbs since last run and carrying some 24 lbs more actual weight today.

IS THE WEIGHT FACTOR AGAINST HIM TODAY ? IE - DO WE HAVE A/N BEST MATE, WAHIBA SANDS, ETC ?

In my opinion I feel the drop in class added to the medioacre (?) opposition outweighs the significant weight raise and we have " a winner in the race".

That said, do horses in this scenarion win often enough to justify an investment at the 15/8 on offer this morning ?

Also, I understand Mr Dennis has made Moor Lane his Bismarck.

MY CONCLUSION - NO BET ( TEMPREMENT ).

**** as usually I would value any comments whether it be before or after today`s race.

Regards,
