Ectoo,

People thought the same last year with Kaddaran after his stunning effort in the Halden, but Cenkos still did it. If anything Cenkos appears to be in even better Form than last year.

Just double checking on Armaturk - put a hill in front of him and he thinks its too much like hard work.

Cant see Well Chief being wound up for this one, but he has surprised Pipe since day one, so who knows. Mister McGoldrick looks like he likes Wetherby too much, another easy tracker.

I take it you compile your own speed figures so apart from them what ratings do you think are worth using?

Cheers Rab

I don't let any ratings rule my thinking too much Rab.

I only do speed figures for the better turf meetings and the AW to give me a good idea of the worth of the performances.

RPR ratings are a quick check guide to most races although I don't like a horse getting a large RPR without it being backed up by a reasonable time figure.

Official ratings in handicaps are important..because many horses have a mark that the trainer will make sure they never win above..I don't include improving horses in this. The run of the mill..win once every now and then horses.. normally have a mark that the trainer never wants them to reach.

You may be right, but I suspect it's more a question of limited opportunities for Cenkos.

I agree with the comments about Cenkos

A the moment I am just following the compression horses blindly and see what they throw up..I'll start a thread then we can at a later date look at them to see if any comments made before the race were relevant.

I agree that speed fig IS THE FORM as you say, in non-hcps anyway.
However I use RP sh*** as you call it with reasonable success.
