Fulham,
As Barney said, G. Hall while only having the PK example to work with did have a little bit more to go on than top 3 for consistency from top5 in the betting didnt he?
regards,

I find conflict with behaving badly and bobayaro as well.

Tees Components does indeed look good today and will be taken by myself, but after the last few days,I'm not as confident as I should be.

Agreed, but nowhere near enough to find the more difficult later examples, unless of course he was indeed quite exceptionally bright and imaginative.

Yes,It looks quite a competitive affair,Which is also reflected in the betting forecast,The live market might give more of a clue.

Two races of interest to me today are at Wolverhampton.

In the 12.45 I am making a book with Sir Desmond and Winning Pleasure whom I make as the class/form horse and 2nd class/form respectively.

In the 3.15 I will be backing Reminiscent and Raise A Melody.

Good luck with your bets, but personally I'd be cautious about Wolverhampton at present, as they are messing around, unpredictably, with the surface. A friend of mine, who genuinely is a professional and particularly focuses on the AW, has near enough given up with Wolverhampton for the present, and prefers to focus on the more predictable (surface-wise) Southwell and Lingfield.

Youv'e often made a point of not backing horses that have won lto at large odds,Sir desmond was 12/1 lto so therefore wasn't fancied,I know you made a book but sometimes you seem to contradict yourself. confused

Hi Fulham,

The main problem with the inconsistency of the Wolverhampton surface at the moment applies to the Saturday meetings.

They are running some afternoon races and then having a break for an hour or two before recommencing racing.

During this break they are harrowing the track and changing the surface completely. This is a complete nightmare for anybody who uses SF on the AW as it becomes necessary to compile 2 different going allowances. One for the afternoon races and one for the evening races, with obviously correspondingly less data on which to base this analysis.

Personally, I've given up trying to compile SF for these Saturday Wolverhampton meets.

Cheers

A very good performance by this horse,Considering the weight it was giving,But i don't think anybody could confidently have backed him,Especially as he drifted in the l/m

Going back to Law breaker,Apparently this horse was plotted up today,For the 7lb claimer to lose his claim,He got stuck in traffic and missed the ride,I bet the poor little buggers gutted.

G. Hall didn't just have Prominent King to work from did he?

In the letter 14 he stated that "Fortunately C. Van der wheil elaborated following comments by methodmaker and after burning more midnight oil I spotted the "Key" which was plainly there to see".VDW mentioned another 7 winners in that letter 13, along with 2 second place horses to note.

Fulham said that Mtoto’s method didn'work with all 20 specifically named class/form horses.By letter 13 there had been no mention of class/form horses. So it's interesting to note that of the examples VDW gave in letter 13 that were handicaps, Mtoto would have eliminated from consideration Celtic pleasure (outstanding bet), Strombolus (good thing), Battlement (good thing), and Rifle Brigade (outstanding bet) with his technique of only considering horses within 10 of the top OR.

R.e Tees Components,There was obviously no value whatsoever today,I wouldn,t be to dissapointed this horse will win something decent,A quote from Guest springs to mind ,"How many times have you seen a horse lose at short odds,Only to win at longer odds when nobody wants it" We shall see.

Investor - The sp/market factor is yet again just a guideline. When Cyfor Malta won at 16/1 recently, he was thoroughly exposed beforehand yet was unfancied by the market. Next time with more weight against better handicapped horses than previously, he was short in the forecast before drifting in the afternoon market and making no real show at all in the race.

A lot, but not all, of VDWs bets had previously featured well in the markets and performing as expected by them. There were a few unexposed horse though that were not that short in their last race. One that springs to mind is Ascencia.

Ascencia, not only was unexposed, but was dropping in class after winning at 16/1 at Newbury beforehand.

Sir Desmond is fairly exposed, but has recently won in much better class, though it is interesting that he has started clear favourite on only 3 ocassions now and finished 2nd 3 times.

There was no value in the other 2 I put up, so small mercies there. The way things are going at the moment, I'd be worried about stepping outside the front door! roll eyes

Left him alone because of the odds,I didn't realise that there was a non runner at that stage. He still should have won though.Hopefully he will win at good odds shortly, but not much consolation to those who backed him.
