Hello everyone,

I have been told of a certainty tomorrow. The manager of the bookies that I go in, know's someone at the head office of the place that they do the numbers for the Portman Park races. There are four of them who have managed to rig the machine so that FOR THIS ONE RACE ONLY the result is already known to these four, and will be known to my bookie tommorow just before the 11:27 race. Because I am such a big winner with my bookie, all my bets are on record as between £500 and £1000, though only roughly 25% on Portman Park, he has aked me if I will place for him a large bet at just below my maximum so that it will not arouse suspicion at head office. Jimmy, thats the bookies name, has told me that it is one of the best races as there are lots of runners and that the machine has been has been programmed to give a BIG PRICED WINNER. He has told me that he wont need to give me the stake money until after the race and that anyway my share of the Guaranteed WINNING profits, he has told me 25% but I am going to hold out for 33%, will more than cover my outlay on the bet. He has told me that it will run in Moscow Flyers colours, how the christ he knows that I dont know, but he says they can pick the colours as well as the order that they finish in. There is going to be an announcement just before the race is run that there has been a jocky change and this is the signal that I am to put the £900 on, just below maximum dont forget so as not to arouse suspicion. I only wish that I knew the name of the horse then I could put it here as a cert but as I have told you its all very hush hush and I cant tell you the name as Jimmy, my bookie, doesnt even know it yet until he gets the call about 11:15 tommorow. I wont be able to post it here either as I have not got a laptop. So anyway just keep your eye out for it. Red and blue with white stars on the sleeves 11:27 race. We are going in big. Malta here I come!

It's a no bet decision for me - on the grounds of temperament, as I can't decide whether "Jimmy" is in form or not Eek

Now I'm confused Confused

Do we lump on the horse with the "Red and blue with white stars" or the "Burgandy with white chevrons?"

By this leek I pledge my allegiance

BC,

Sorry about this, I went to the bookies early this morning, so me and Jimmy could see if there was enough money in the safe to pay me out, he told me yesterday not to worry as he would just call in another few k cash to pay us, oops sorry, I mean me, out when it goes in. When I got there everything was alright there was plenty money in the safe, I didnt know it was behind the big picture on the wall. Can you believe he leaves the keys hung up on the wall next to the Kettle? Jimmy was answering the phone so I was checking how much money was in the safe when he shouts me over, it was them, the big four, apparently there has been a lot of questions asked about the 11:27 race and what are the colours and numbers of the horses taking part. Jimmy said they sounded a bit edgy, but he told them not to worry as he had all the plans in place and that nobody suspected a bloody thing when he asked for the extra cash to be sent in yesterday afternoon. The big four told Jimmy they suspect that somehow its got out about one being off in the race, and that as a precaution the race will run a bit late, they have arranged for a dog not to go in at wimbledon in the 11:24 race and the track girls have been told that they Must get another dog in SLOWLY so that the 11:27 race is delayed. The big four told Jimmy that they are going to have a bit more on to cover the costs of paying off the track girls and that did he know anybody else who he could trust to get some on.
I said I would try to help, but we need someone who can be in the office at Exactly 11:34, that is the time the 11:27 race will be set to start at, because of the delayed dog race dont forget.

Any offers for this touch, Big priced winner?

I think pkboy must have been drinking with the jockey and trainer of that tip from Rampton Park.

Don't imagine I can match that winner, or Investor's SR, but here we go for Thursday, 3 March:

140 Lingfield, Regal Dream 1pt EW

310 Lingfield, Steely Dan 1pt win, Golano 1pt win.
