Here`s another piece of palatable form for Bond City in the context of todays race finishing behind Strike Up The Band and 6 lbs lower in ratings today.Only one fun bet bet for me today so far place bet on Dandy Man at 1.70 & 1.68 if i get anything back i might have a wee win and place on Bond City but that`s all it would be in this race.

Les The lto form is very good form, but it was achieved in very different circumstances, something you must consider seriously if you are at all interested in progressing with VDW. For what it's worth, and to demonstrate that VDW is far from the numbers game that some seem to think, I think the horse will struggle to keep up today, and is unlikely to make the first 4.

Les Bond City is no a type for your notebook as he is hard to read and has disappointed before but when playing for fun its worth risking that he will bounce back to small stakes at (20/1).I`ll have a wee bet on him if i get anything back from the place bet on Dandy Man but it would only be for the sake of a wee bet after puttin some time in on the race.If you had`nt mentioned the race last night id have filled it under cannae be bothered too difficult. Here`s what Spotlight says aboot him id say this is a fair assessment so far - Run really well virtually all starts for this rider and goes well downhill but an uninspiring year so far, cheekpieces refitted last twice; revival possible with Frankie up for first time in over a year plus first-time blinkers.

Because it would not be taking account of thc circumstances.
The first race discussion (item 8 of "The Golden Years") is surely pertinent. Do you suppose Van der Wheil would have been as positive about Prominent King if, beaten five lengths, he'd been getting 17lb from Drumgora rather than giving it?

Les Yes - and it wouldn't do any harm.

Presumably you see the numbers as supportive of Toms Laughter today? As regards consistency and probables I'm afraid I don't.

I read the above to mean that while the numbers might seem favourable, other (and in your view more important) considerations led you to your down-the-field conclusion.
