So that said lets get curious - Your Winner in a Race could be the winner of his/her race, *look in your mirror and check your distance.Les what does a mirror expose bar my or your ug mut*?

Confused

I would be extremely worried as an in depth form student exactly what was behind me and for the future not was in front. Check your mirrors?

An old mentor of mine used to say;

"Never look back - in victory or defeat."

In some ways, he was right; the past is gone, we have to move on.
However, in the racing game 99% of us are never done looking back.
In fact, folk are still rowing about this fkn Roushayd, while on one "top" forum, they're still on about Kauto Star.

Imo, you're only as good as your next fight. Till then, you're only as good as your last.

Several years ago now, I went to a fkn seminar organised by a crowd who used to advertise daily in the RP.
Some of the shit was interesting, but, in the main, the dude ( a fat bstrd, who you could see smiling out of the corner of the paper every day) had one ploy;

Run videos of past races and look for the horse that CAME FOURTH and looked promising.
There is a touch of logic to this: the running on animal may have been just out of the places so isn't far inferior to the placed animals, yet most joe punters will completely overlook it, as it won't be listed in the 1,2,3.

Perhaps, that's what we are supposed to spot in our mirrors?

3 wrong and 1 right, all with fairly simple explanations that fit exactly with what VDW told us in one simple sentence, but you won't find any without looking back!!!

My guesses are:

ID = too tired after Cheltenham effort. An animal that needs an adequate rest period between races.
Also, didn't look too good pre-race. Sweaty and not wanting to know.
Buttfr forum jockeys suggest jockey was at fault bc he held the old thing up.
Time to retire the old critter, imo.

KS = French-bred hyped horse that can't jump properly. Fkd since good effort at Kempton.
Now burnt-out and will never carry my money. For those who disagree, take the 7/1 available. If the thing proves me wrong by bouncing back, that sort of price will not be on offer.

Binocular = best prospect I saw yesterday. Good animal.

----

Re Trainers: many of them are snot-gobbling liars, who con their owners on a regular basis. Besides that, a horse can make a monkey out of a golden goose - which even that P Daniels cannot do - so it's never a sure fire dead cert, UNLESS, of course,
a man is well-versed in vdw.

Then he will ALWAYS get the winner in HINDSIGHT and will be able to state with great authority that all known losers had no fkn chance of winning.
The rest of us - especially the mere mortals - can only gaze on in awe with mouths wide open.
They know, y'know!

It's all done by smoke and mirrors.

It's the same with VDW as it is with racing forums, Sean.
Some will learn, while others are just content to slag off! Wink

Well done John - The Gentleman's Deal and Cusoon form is what we are looking for. Nayyir, a class horse, but questionable form when analysing this race.

Confusion reigns?

If the mirrors had been used at Aintree then your pot would be full, or would it?

The ability rating is a rating and nothing more but can be used to show improvement or otherwise alas not the be all.

Have you read the VDW slate?

I am no nearer the pot of gold than anyone else, but I would whole heartedly disagree with the Lee gentleman, you have to know what you have bet, what is in front is but a guide to the future that is always changing.

THANK YOU

VINCENT

With respect, there's no point posting that afterwards, and especially not even saying what the simple explanations are!!

ID - not his course, but certainly set the standard.

KS, btn by a nose off poor riding instructions as admitted by PN, leaving RW furious. Had the nose been the other way - as it so easily could have been, then no issue. I think this was a good bet that was f'kd up.

And the dutch provided a comfortable forecast.

Nevertheless, it would seem that the top Cheltenham horses probably should be put away after the festival, as I've seen in other years.

BLAKCAT HI
Why is aintree not a course for ID, i know it has only picked up one race there, but from a prize money point of view it is in 3rd place behind cheltenham and newbury
