I remember having some success with this back then, although it rather ran in spells.

Just for the heck of it I've had a look at the Haydock 4.10 though I'm also toying with another way to end up with the ratings (2nd set)

Danehillsundance (3) 101 105 y y ? ?
Hoh Wotanite (3) 92 97 x x ? x
Ella Woodcock (3) 89 95 y y y ?
Lord Theo (3) 86 97 y ? y y
Ansells Pride (3) 81 93 ? y x y
Major Magpie (3) 79 93 ? y y ?

Both methods have Danehillsundance well clear and going and distance will suit; however there are question marks in regard to the trainer and jockey.

Despite its high rating, Hoh Wotanite has nothing else going for it and is scratched.

Ella Woodcock comes out surprisingly well for the outsider of the field, although on my ratings Lord Theo ranks higher and also has a lot of positives.

Ansells Pride and Major Magpie are well down in the rankings and neither is proven on fast ground.

So I's take Danehillsunadnace and Lord Theo against the field though it wouldn't surprise me to see Ella Woodcock run better than its price suggests.

Hello everyone , Ive only just joined this forum and read through max method with some intrigue as in the past when i did some punting I used a similliar technique (although a lot more basic and rustic) using racespeed timings to rate horses.

Ok the max method

As far as I understand from reading his initial starter , he used unadjusted RP figures because these had not been tampered with by The RP team to take into account conditions, going , race criteria etc.

An adjustment for weight has to take place , because fundamentally that is how the handicapper levels the field.

Use the latest runs because that shows how the horse is currently performing, what happened 2 years ago in reality is insignificant . Think about the horse being an athlete , they come into and go out of peak condition.

Max method is not a secret , golden goose but merely a methodical analysis of form , for an example take any race if a horse in form wins it will be highlighted by this method but the opposite is also true , an horse with no form can also win and this will not be highlighted.

From recent postings the most difficult part appars to be getting the required info from the RP online , and the change in race classification
