T,

VDW never did it pre-race.

As Pitmatic has pointed out there is not another thread like this in the world. Unique!

I bet the bookies are glad you've only got enough strength to look at one race per day.

Tremendous!!

Thank you Guys Thumb

Pity we couldn't get anywhere near the f/p 16/1

Well I did want to "SET ALIGHT" this thread Wink

That's £420 profit from Mr Chandler today Big Grin

Stuffing that into the ever-stretching Golf Bag

takes it to £4,683.75

LOL Big Grin

I'm hoping to build my stamina up for the flat season, and look at a minimum of 3 races a day.

It's been virtually impossible to find 3 suitable races to look at since I started this thread because of the soft underfoot conditions on the NH. Titanic

Sorry Guys - I've looked a 2 races - but no bets. Frown

Now, my results at Wolvs are definitely below par (remember MIZZ TEE, 3rd bet on this thread? think she was last) - so, if at all possible I avoid Wolvs. However, it would have been nice to reach target today, so I looked at the 4.40.

TRIFTI looks good on figs, but recent Trainer form is a problem - the Trainer has 2 runners before this race today, so I could see how they perform, then make an informed decision later. There again TRIFI's figs have been enhanced by a couple of "tactical" races recently - which rather throws things. On top of that f/p 9/1 but only about 6/1 tops at moment. I have to draw a line somewhere, I can't give concessions to course AND trainer form AND muddling figures AND price. Down

I then looked at Mkt Ras 4.30 Surely OVERSTRAND has the class to win this? But my concern is the going - described as "Good/soft" how much "Good" will there be come 4.30 - and OVERSTRAND is carrying top weight. Again, recent Trainer performance is a problem, the Trainer does run SHEER GUTS in the 4.00 which may give an indication.

I've tried my best to find a bet because a horse won yesterday at 33/1 and it would have been a bet but it failed my Trainer stats filter. Don't you just love it when that happens Mad

When knowing not to bet is something that becomes part of the infamous discipline that we should all have, but rarely stick to so hats off to you for being that rare one!

Something crazy happened there.

Billyhills opened OVERSTRAND at 12/1, but it was trading at about 6.5 on Betfair.

So, I backed e/w at 12/1 Billyhills and laid at 6.6 on Betfair.

Billyhills then immediately cut their price to 6/1

Got a free bet Smile but any profit won't count for this thread.

OVERSTRAND won at 13/2

TRIFTI 2nd at 13/2

Sometimes I'm too cautious for my own good

£50 e/w on those would have exceeded the £5,000 target!!

Mad

Sorry qwerty - they stood out on my figs - I think nerves got the better of me being so close to target - and I found ways of talking myself out of them.

Many apologies Red Face

It's just not my day.

Billyhills did not settle my bet on OVERSTRAND correctly - so I telephoned them - they said they had made a "pricing error" which was only shown for 3 minutes - and my bet has been settled at the correct price of 7/1.

They said it is within their terms of agreement that that can do this Mad

So, when you place a bet with a bookie at a price - beware, they can change the price if they want.

Talk about unfair, one-sided "deals" Mad

I was going to close my account with them - but they would love that!!!

"I think nerves got the better of me being so close to target - and I found ways of talking myself out of them." How many times do we do that? Well done again!
