Anothergreat pick Trojan, I used it in my favourite bet of an each double with Canina @ 15/8. Out of all of the horses running yesterday what pointed you into the direction of that one? It can't have been the drugs. I'm recovering from an op. myself and the painkillers don't help me to pick winners.

All the Best, Tyro

Thanks Tyro,

Unfortunately, I can usually only look at one handicap race a day......so it's a matter of choosing the right race to look at. The frustrating thing is I may look at a race, find there's no betting opportunity...then that's it. Whereas if I had chosen another race, I may have found a great bet. As I said earlier, I use the RP website and RPR ratings for all the selections.

As I felt under pressure to find a decent selection yesterday - I did a triple shift and looked at 3 races.

Ayr 2.50 - No bet - too messy.

Ling 3.35 - same again, as I emailed a member of this board "anyone could win this race" and a 20/1 winner popped in.

Ling 2.30 Zalkani was vastly overpriced reading the RPR ratings for what he had achieved at this Course and Distance. Worth an e/w bet at 12/1.

As for staking, well that's a sore point - no doubt I would be making more money if I bet "win only" - perhaps I shall start doing so soon. But it's all a matter of one's "comfort zone" - I should look more long term, but if I take a bad hit one day - it disproportionately affects me. If my emotions get the better of me, I find I start making mistakes with my selections. For example, Friday, I lost £30 which I was fine with, but I would have lost £200 if the bets were "win only". Doesn't matter because I would have picked up £1200 yesterday with a "win only" bet? But after losing £200 on Friday, I may not have chosen yesterday's winner. Hope this babble makes sense. Confused

Today:

Exeter 4.00 GODS TOKEN £50 e/w at 7/1

Thanks Kingsley,

They don't win any easier than that Thumb

I'm just waiting for BillyHills to settle my bet, as I've probably got a R4 deduction on my EP of 7/1

Profit of £378.00 from BillyHills.

Tad disappointed, but of course 2 NRs meant only one-fifth odds the place, not one-quarter. Plus R4 deductions - they haven't showed how they have arrived at the figure.

Still, a lot better than the 4/1 SP Smile

Stuffing that lot in the Golf Bag gives

£3,493.75 Thumb

Right, the only thing I don't like about this horse is his form figs 211

I like to use this system/method to find "hidden form" - and this form is shouting at us - which is a negative in my book
Nevertheless:

Plumpton 3.30 AMANPURI £50 e/w at 8/1

Thanks Kingsley, thanks OT,

Yes, I was worried about the Jonjo/McCoy horse - rightly so.

AMANPURI well beaten in 2nd, but a bit of profit at £50.00 for the day - better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick on such a poor day Fish

Doesn't take much to stuff £50.00 into the Golf Bag - now up to £3,543.75 Smile
