Max,

I`ll take you on but I need a 500 point start.

Welcome back mate, looks like you`ve grown a pair of horns while you`ve been away.

Rose used to drive me round the bend with the questions also but it seems to me that Cabbie wears his heart on his sleeve and has probably been trying a bit to hard.

In his frustration, without you steering the ship, he`s probably made a couple of wrong turns along the journey. You know what it`s like when you`re lost, you`ve got the map and you`re looking for roads that aren`t there.

I hope Cabbie gets back on track with this thread, he comes across as a real trier which you have to admire, although perhaps over enthusiasm can sometimes appear like a Jack Russell yapping at your ankles.

It`s really good to see you posting again Max, and as I said before your return will make a lot of people very happy, don`t forget that.

All the best

.

PS Just read Spaceout`s last post. Spaceout me old mate, I think you need to read back a bit further. Q`s post was a joke as were the subsequent one`s.

I was told the other day on a different thread by a VDW ite that people accuse him of being to blunt.(He compared me to a slug)

My guess is, compared to Cabbie, he`s nowt but a spring chicken. An absolute bloody beginner.

taking up your challenge over a day i would lose to you because of the way i have bets,i dont have 4/5 bets a day,i also believe that over any given time you would also show more profit than me,
dont belittle yourself, by remarking about the amount of stakes anybody uses, because everyone has to start somewhere, but i can put your mind at rest,it is a lot more than 50P or a bus ticket,

MAX to be good at anything you must understand about human nature, you must also understand tempermant,i did not back one of your selections not because i didn,t think that they would win,it was because i did not pick them myself, you must understand that if you dont then you will never understand human nature.

THE bit i liked most of all was you saying i come across as a novice, again you have missed the human nature, your method was differant to anything that i had seen,so it is like a learning procedure all over again, you set yourself up as the teacher, and i was a pupil,if the pupil dont ask a question, the pupil will never learn,

MAX read three legs message about me he has summed me up to a tee,he understands human nature

but be lucky i have no hard feelings against you or any other person in this world cabbie

I was in contact with Cabbie recently and we both discussed the possibility of this being a wind up. This had nothing to do with the post by Q. I will be the first to say that I am not an expert on this subject but during my time I have noted a lot of systems/statistics.
The thought was brought about because no one could consistently get anywhere close to the selections/strike rate that you did. We made allowances for the Max factor but no one has come up with a reasonable strike rate. There is one hell of a lot of info on this thread posted by yourself, both in original system and answers. I must be honest and state that the original system rules that you placed up in the first few pages really left me baffled when it came to a couple of the selections you put up and in trying to work out any selections myself.
I think the search for the "correct order and rules" since you have been gone has come about from the vast majority of people also encountering this.
Stats wise I seem to remember that although the 80/20 stats stand correct when the two coincide (i.e t/j with same horse) the strike rate for wins is only 50%.
I don't however know if by adding your other filters (which were impressive when applied to PRW) changes the strike rate for this.
I for one don't mind spending a few hours going over the RP. I just hate working for other people hence I am self employed. What I think is needed is a blank start and working examples to be put up as we go along. I know it is your living but if you could put up each days bets as you find them along with the way in which you came to the selections I feel it would be more helpful than just a set of rules stuck on the board.
In no way do I or I am sure Cabbie wish to imply that you are in any way a fraud and acknowledge that you have contributed some excellent pieces to this board but human nature is such that when a given set of circumstances occur (in this case obviously our own inadequacies combined with you leaving at an inconvenient time, not finding any consistancy in the method, many of us having tried lots of systems before etc) we tend to look at things in negative way. We are cloned like this in this country by the media and the way the social state operates ,we cannot get away from being a pessimistic nation.
We all understand that putting a method up is more difficult than a straight forward system with set rules and conveying experience is the hardest thing to do but I am sure that everyone would be grateful if we could see the selection process as it happens. I am glad to see you back on the board and hope that you can show us the error of our ways.

Hi cabbie can understand your frustration. out of interest what was your usual selection method before coming on to the thread? just to show the question was in good faith mine was simply back fav's in races and courses with a high fav strike rate, using retreaval showed good profit but at times needed balls of steel. Now after learning i can make a profit at level stakes by reducing the number of bad bets.

THREE LEGS
thank you for your kind comments, you summed me up to a tee,
if you look back at any of my post you will see i have never had a go at anyone,it seems that i have rattled MAX cage, and since that message apperead MAX was back on the scene,so for my first go of having a go at someone might have done some good ie MAX is back, we will never know if that was my intentions, but you do seem to understand human nature,so you can read between the lines

MAX dont waste your time trying to bait me, i have come up against the best,i dont rise to baiting,in fact to me it be littles everything,
you know your system works,i also believe your system will work,so do what you are best at,you bit the bone, you lost on that, and you still cant see it,
be lucky cabbie

Max, it's great that you are back!
To all the mainplayers... DON'T take offence, but for drama, entertainment and interest this thread leaves East Enders, Holby City or whatever, dead in the water (or perhaps 25 lengths off the pace). Hollywood beckons whoever's writing the script!
Now - Back to Business!!
Best wishes to one and all.

Cabbie

Thankyou for your comment`s. You should understand also that I appreciate exactly why Max has a bee in his bonnet about you.

This may sound hypocritical (that`s because it is) but there comes a time when it`s best to just shut up. Cabbie, guess what...........

Yours

This thread has certainly livened up again !

I can well understand why Max wasnt best pleased after giving his method , pre race selections , and time !

Even in vdw - discretion in arriving at a bet has to be used.

Even if you dont agree that its your cup of tea - theres a lot of stimulating and interesting points that could be useful

Its a pity as I would have been interested in max's new proposed form evaluation as they say an open mind is a winning one.

i studied the form book,i also use part of the vdw method,im not an expert on the vdw method, but i like to use the drop in class, also the betting f/c ie 1st 4 in non hcps and 1st 5 in hcps. i always use the roushayd system but i only use it on the flat, it has proved over the years quite profitable, you dont get many bets about 40/50 bets a year on the flat, jock bingam who wrote the book takes you through all of 1999 bets the method picked 43 bets and 36 won with winners up to the prices of 20/1, but i was using this method before 1999,i managed to get his book on the roushayd system, and after reading it,the method was easy to apply, and also with me getting a computer made it a lot quicker,by sticking to the above i have never lost my pot, like all things when it,s going wrong, i close the shop untill things start regaining momentem then i start betting again,
because of the type of work i do i can leave the betting alone when things are not right, but when they are going well,i dont have to work,

be lucky cabbie

Hi Max

Glad to see you back.

I have been using your original filters on the
selections that Tan puts up from his Tannisworld
system.
Since the 1st of April there have been
24 selections
8 winners.

Using Your filters on the above selections has
resulted in only 4 horses qualifying for a bet.
One of these was a non runner and the remaining
three have all Won, @ 2/1, 13/8, and 6/5.
Early days yet, but looking good. Thanks.
Regards Del
