OK I printed out various bits of this thread as it went along.I have re read it so many times I should be able to quote it but it is amazing that you can only see the same things each time you read something and miss the bleeding obvious. may I suggest that Max did put his system up in virtual entireity. Is it not possible that it having taken so long for him to find it himself he believed others should do a little work to be deemed worthy of using it.
This may not be the correct answer but they are Max's words from various parts of the thread.

That is definately an abbreviated version of the formula Max put up.He did not however put up the guidelines for each type of race and I think that is the major stumbling block we must overcome.
As it is mainly stistically based I wondered if it was partly to do with how certain horse types/ages do in race type at track.
The notes on the course pages that he printed up give some pointers to general runners on the course but are not type/distance specific.
I do believe however that due to the clarity of the comments they should be a major filter to any runners selected.
Could we all print up our own version of what we think the correct proceedure should now be and see if we can reach a concensus.

well spotted at kempton,personally when max was with us i tried to do all the filters,i only got a couple of horses right whith his selections and some of them left me confused to how they was selected,in as much i asked him,he replied to some of them but not all, one he replied to was when i said one of his selections was only 7% he said whats the differance,i wished at the time i checked the selections he made, but as i say i was so entranced witg=h the filters.
maybe you are onto something with the racecourse info, im pleased a few more is taken it up to get the system right,it is interesting you saying the 80/20 sires because on his last selections when he left they was all80/20 train/jock/sires, and this is also the same horses that i had picked.

its good news but how did you get in touch with max i thought he was abroad, and in what capacity if he comes back will he help,after all he had the chance to tell us,and you must admit he did say he would tell all,but even you must admit his selections was not selected by his methods,in fact i have run his filters and it is hard even to find a horse to bet,it looks like i have spent about a month doing his method and its really come to nothing,if max comes back good luck to you and all that follows him,me i have given up its easier to undestand the vdw method at least there is no deviations the horses are picked on facts and have not deviated since vdw put the method up in the weekly paper about 30 years ago,
but i have bet on horses for a long time and i know when things are right or wrong, and i think max has led us up the path.

i forgot between the 2 of us we asked max why he chose his horses did he ever give you a straight answer
to give you an idea we both asked the question how he chose a horse that had the lowest points, he fannyied an answer, on another occasion i asked him how he chose a bet when one of the filters only showed 7% he,s answer was whats the differance between 7% and 10% that told me everything,there is a lot of differance, it was him that set the filters not me, another time i asked how he chose another bet, he,s answer was something got to win the race, but that particular race had 2 horses with a lot better filters, so how can you even think that you are going to solve the system,

I agree with you about the PVT. I cannot see what possible use it has. I have run it over scores of races but often the selection comes from the bottom third rather than the top third.

IE.
A crap horse has been running in grade B races and then is dropped into grade D races. Just because it has been dropped two grades does not make it automatically better than a horse than one that has been consistantly winning in grade D company. The crap horse will then score points for dropping in grade but the proven horse at the grade does not get any. Does this make any sense?

Max also states that any selection must come from the master list. If the filters throw up two selections in a race, do we not just use these two if the percentages are any good? As stated these two selections could be in the bottom of the PVT but because they are the only two to pass filters we use them regardless.

I personally have not done that badly with the process. This is without bothering with the PVT. Out of my 5 race selctions that I have made in the last week, 4 have won (2 Horses per race). This using Max's £200 staking is a profit of approx £1,100. I think that some people are reading too much into things and not looking at it in much simpler statistical terms.

I personally have been using races were the favourite or second favourite are well fancied according to the forecast price and have been using races with a field that is not too big (12 or less).

I don't beleive that Max was pulling the wool over our eyes, after all what does he have to gain? I just think that he did not explain himself very well (IE His spelling and grammar are shite!). I think that this is where some of the misunderstanding is.

Anyway gotta go now and finish sulking about Liverpool getting knocked out of the Champions league (SOB SOB).

i have been back for a couple of days now but have been monitering this thread with interest.to be honest its really gone to pot with people trying to read into things that i posted up that simply are not there.i thought that before i had left that you all had the basics sorted but it seems that some are intent on clouding a simple stratedgy which in turn confuses more than it helps.i e-mailed kis today to tell him about a better form evaluation method that i came up with.i was going to post it up but on second thoughts.
there has been lots of discussion over the lengh of time it takes to evaluate field with regard to filter.let me tell you all i have been over tomorrows cards in less than 2 hours,true not done form in that time but filters no problem.
there is no point in bleating that you want to be pro gamblers in one breath and then moaning over a few hours study,i mean whats a few hours when it is your income?you get out simply what you put in,theres no easy way and if you are looking for one then stick to one of the numerous here today gone tomorrow 10 minute systems that are around.
i mean 99% of you do not gamble for a living most rely on another source of income like cabbie,what would happen to him if he deceided to drive his cab around for a couple of hours and expected to make it pay?its the same in this game,make your decision are you going to stick with it and make more in a week than you do in a month now or are you going to still be dreaming in 10 years time?

i really can not believe your recent posts.since the very first time we corresponded i have tried to answer all of your questions truthfully and in detail even when they drove me round the bend.you tell me where i have posted up a horse that did not make the master list,go on just one,no because you can not.just because you seem unable to grasp the basic concept of the original idea you resort to slagging the idea off as a waste of time,funny that after your posts of last month where according to you "they will be talking about your filter in 20 years time"what changed?you do your takings on a filter pass or what?
dont try and tell me that after all the years i have been doing this it does not work just look at my selections,when i posted up a few weeks ago i was well clear of weekly targets on all occasions,in fact my last couple of posts gave up 12/1 and 14/1 winners,when was the last time you had results like that?.whenever i have tipped horses anybody who followed would have won money.
since you have been on this board how many have you tipped and how many have won?from memory 1 i believe.

How i long for the good old days of prw then filters. where did it all go wrong. Personally I'm a beleiver in systems to highlight horses and then method to cut out the loosers. lets get back to making selections and trying to filter out the loosers.

WELCOME BACK MY FRIEND

There are people on here max that do want to learn from your findings and i'm very much one of them, and i'm sure others out there looking in are also very interested and willing to learn, so please dont take a couple of negative postings to heart and when that steam as stopped coming out of your ears, i will be very interested in what you have got to say.

I've been and done 10 hours at work today and still managed to to do another 4 hours on my pc trying to get some selections for tomorrrow, that dream will come true. I've actually not lost any cash as i've not been betting, will do that when i get all this sorted out. I've been trying different ways using your methods, as i got very few bets sticking to your initial ideas.

These are what i've come up with for tomorrow;

Nothing at lingfield or warwick but at chepstow i got the following, so here goes putting my head on the block, just watch them all lose but it's all only experimenting at the mo,

regarding a horse that did not pass your filters i dont remember the horse but if you look back on yor thread i pointed out it was only 7% and you did answer whats the differance,and another horse was bottom of the totting up kis and myself did point this out.
so it was hard to follow and some of the people who followed your selections also since you left found it hard to find bets,
but if you look back on the thread you will see i never left trying and at some stage i thought i was the only carrying on with your filters, so i made a rallying call for people to try and solve it,and a lot answered that call as you can see in the last week.
as for rubbishing you your right i did tonight and dont i feel a mug, because again you are right i did say your filters will be around for 20years time.
as for sending you mad that has come as a suprise to me, you did say that a question not asked is a silly question, perhaps i was getting on your nerves, and you needed a rest,well i hope you have had a good rest and carry on with your info, but i will give you assurance i wont ask you another question but you should have really thought this one out it was only because i was following your examples and because i can please myself when i work i was able to keep up with you, and if i did not ask the question, then someone else would have.
personally i dont think you knew how popular you would become, and trying to show us your system and trying to make your living from betting,would be hard,you are a pro,so i have also made a living from betting,but i learnt something like you i like to help people on a subject i know, and i learnt, when trying to teach people,they will want to saturate you with questions,you cant give them eneough,what ever you do they want more,
and they will keep coming back for more,
the answer before you ask the question is why im still not a pro is i went and bought a nightclub with my stake and winnings because i wanted a change,the grass is always greener on the other side,but i come out of it with not eneogh stake to make a living out of it so i drive a cab and work when i like i bet and in the last year i have trebled my stake,i have not had a bet since doing your filters because i wanted to work with what i was doing,unlike you i dont have to bet and if through your filters i could have improved my winnings who knows i might give up the cabbing

where do you keep getting this 7% from?i have looked and i can not find any horse quoted by me that had a master list of 7%.the only one that comes close was the trainer s.dow who a few weeks ago was running at 9.21%,this being 0.79 short.now at the time he had a s/r of something like 12/130 and i did include on master list.now just think what else i and others have said about using your BRAIN.this is a good core sample (130)and over 5 seasons he is 1 winner from 130 runners from getting back in the 10% range,you would have to be a nutter to disqualify him on these figures.
i have lost count of the number of times i have said to use your discretion when selecting.
not hard to understand is it.
and as for your last remarks about pro gambling it seems to completely fly in the face of ALL your earlier posts where you come across as a complete novice.
in one sentance you say you dont gamble for a living because not enough stake left and in the next breath you go on to say that your stake has trebled if both points are to be believed then what are you using 50P a point?
as for me pulling my hair out then thats not because you were asking questions its because you repeatedly asked the same thing and were not happy with the answers,thats where you went wrong trying to interpret things that were not there in the first place and coming up with the wrong conclusion.
