THREELEGS regard to master list max did say use the 5 year then once you got the master list then use 2002 because the flat has just started i think you will have to use 2001 but if 2002 has enough data use the 2002
the aw you would use 2002 because this season for aw is well under way
i think for us who are coming to terms with maxs filters it may be best if we conentrated on one meeting or a better idea is get a few of us to-gether and like to-day 3 meetings we could on the forum say 3legs you do so so meeting kis you do another reg you do the 3rd what does the forum think of this idea untill we think we can master it
be lucky reggie

Reggie/Flo (hitherto to be known as TV)

Today at Ling is A/W

I could go along with your idea about a race each, so long as I don`t get the Cavalry charges, 9 runners or less for me, I`m not looking for any medals.

£$"k it I've missed all this,if Flo could cook as well it was only one step away from the next question.
Oh well,'Nobody's perfect'.
I should have had my suspicions, what woman do you know that could be that intelligent, interested in racing, and type so badly?
Swish,he still might have a good personality, and what a nice name.....

FLO,

I think thats a good idea, to share the work out, I would only be to willing. But what rules do we stick to?

1. Do we stick to the rules rigidly?
or
2.Do we go the way max seems to go when there aint any, and look for what comes close?

Personnaly i think we should do 1 and if there aint any then do 2.

Look forward to your replys.

Hang on a min!

I`ve posted a ? for Max which requires clarification before I look at tomorrows cards, or am I the only one that doesn`t get it?

KiS

I go for rule one, Flo would drive me round the bend if we have rule two.

So, rule two is stick to rule one.

OK,

If Max puts me straight on my ? I`ll post up a nice little easy one in the morning.

For any body else interested, just post up beforehand what you`re doing so we don`t duplicate.

Slow down, you`ll get a better idea when Max answers my previous post a bit later.

You sound like a V10 18k rpm 225 mph Skoda about to throw a piston.

Found the answer on the previous page.
Flo
how do these qualify on the master list.
2.00
what a racket
French Davis is 0-6 overall and 0-2 for age at course
300
johnny eboneezer
I A Wood is 0-9 overall and 0-1 for age at course.
the only figures avaliable for top trainers /jocks are the 5 year figures not this years.(are they not)
An interesting little note is that from todays master list, where the fav was not among the unfiltered selections it lost (5/5).If this continues it must surely provide a simple way to find value horses to lay on the exchanges.

KIS/THREELEGS let us stick to rule one the master list plus the filters/80.20/totting up i have started at leicester so i will carry it through shall we leave the jump alone or include it
we will leave rule 2 to max only threelegs might wind up in the loony bin
be lucky i think my new user name when gummy changes it will be cabbie so i will use that name the t/v suggestion dont go down with me
be lucky cabbie

F1NUT we dont use the overall list
also we leave anything in up to 0/5 then at 0/5 it is scrubbed
we use for the train/jock which is called the master list the 5 years stats then once we got them we then use the 2002 but because the turf flat is only a week old we use 2001

re-organising who ever wants to do a racecourse filters when you start put it on the forum we dont have to have a discussion whos doing what just put it in the forum from friday i will be away for a week so i cant be of help
perhaps threelegs will do all of the mondays racing if he is not away
the typing is awfull but the organising is great
be lucky cabbie

Dear Max. As my time is very limited may I summarise? In order to keep my selections to the minimum, and that is not to come up with half a dozen possibilities in nearly every race. I intend to concentrate on the AW and the NH until the end of April. I also want to try and do this on my own without constant referral to the posts. All I would like to know please is, should I keep my selections to non handicaps and to races with less than say 12 runners, or should I go through the lot, bearing in mind that the filters will possibly rule out races for amateurs/apprentices and the like. I have been unable to follow this thread word for word so I may be asking questions that have previously been covered. If so I apologise for that. All I want to do is to keep it simple and there may be others following this thread who feel likewise. Thank you Max; Regards (sorry if I am old fashioned). JIF

i really do not have a strong opinion one way or another,if you want bigger prices with more risk then h/c are a good source of winners, personally i have made an absolute fortune in claimers on the a/w over the winter.
if you have the time i would recommend going over the whole card and finding races where the filter highlights just a couple of horses within the first four in the betting.there is money to be made in this situation everyday.
hope that helps max.

in answer to your post at 11.59 am-you are correct in your assumption that the trainer in question is out of form this year.the sample you gave is plenty to make a decision either way.just use the 5 season stats for master list and then fine tune with 2002 stats.

the 2.30 at lingfield was a race for 3yo+ horses but all of the runners were older so look at stats for 4yo+.
there will be times when the trainer runs a 3yo against the older horses,in this case you must look at the stats for 3yo even though it might be a 4yo+ race.

max.
