The RP paper is more specific at 2.7K.

What do you do here mate? In a 20 runner race we could be talking about 60 pts.

thanks spaceout and three legs i've got the hang of it now steve.

i have been using the online form at raceform but if you are using the post then click on to each race to give you an exact value because if you take it from the lifetime form list then as you say it can make a lot of difference.

max i see you are taking the raceform on line it does make you system easier and quicker to use
when i suggested it to the forum you tried it and sais it looks all chinese im saying this because if your followers went with the raceform on line after a couple of times they will see it has a great advantage
also another idea is to use mainwaring site the train/jock is free to use and it really goes into details like everything else on his site

max re- 200 southwell just the job/broughtons flush
max i only looked at this race after you put your horses up and really how do you expect us to follow this system if you are picking horses that fail filters and also not in the 1st 4 pvt
i can go along with just the job too/last 14 days 1-4-15 the train and jock cover all filters but the pvt@ 60 is not in the 1st 4 in fact its about 10th
we come to your other sel/the trainlast 14days 0-0-4 ok but from then on its all down hill the train then failed 3/5 on filters the jock ok then we come to the pvt@32 is well below your 1st 4 in fact its about 11/12 out 14 max is there something else to come from you i did not bother doing your other 3 races because you laid out the foundation and you have gone away from it so i cant follow what you are doing sorry max but thats how i see it

I think Spacedout has it right and if Max has to go against the 'Flo' sometimes so be it. No doubt he has a very good answer to Florence's somewhat peevish sounding post. At the end of the day Max came out top and he was good enough to post up his selections beforehand so that anyone could have taken advantage if they had wanted to. Well done Max! JIF

a good day all in all allthough the haslem runners underperformed,i gave him the benefit of the doubt even though his 14 day stats are poor i think going into today he was 1/25.his form at the begining of the year though was very impressive but for now i will not consider any more of his until i see a win.
broughtons flush won as i had hoped along with law breaker who retiurned a very nice price.inchcoonan did not run which saved me £140 and i finished up with mystical venture.
going into today i was £200 down and the new target became £950,total stake outlay today £800(+£200 loser yesterday)total return today £1670=profit on week so far £670.as you can see i am only £80 off target now with 3 racing days to go(no racing on good friday).
to be honest i am well over that target now to early prices but as i did not mention this originally i think it only fair to work to sp's at least for the purpose off this thread.

florence i will answer you tonight regarding the points you raised however in the mean time take a look at the post i made late last night to kis concerning my intention to use 2002 stats for what is remainung of the a/w season.

did you see barrons runner in the maiden 20/1 nosed out of a place.considering it was its first run against horses with a lot more experience i thought it ran a good race.

couple of questions though...if they are not too personal Im curious to know....
When you reach your target of £750 why stop untill next week ? do you not look at the racing for the rest of the week and feel tempted or if you see something do you just have an interest?
I think I understand the reasoning behind dutching but what would your strike rate be like on first choices saving the stake on your second choices and lumping it on the first?

i try hard to follow someone i believe in and you i beleive in so i sat down and tried to work out how you came by the sel to-day i got some of my old books out and the one that comes to mind is 4 ways to win by jock bingam if im correct could you let me know and thanks again max for not taking it personnaly

dont worry florence this game gets you tearing your hair out all the time.
last night kis said that he had looked through the southwell card and could find no qualifiers,he was right the filter could find zilch going on last seasons stats,i then told him that i was using this seasons % because we are three months into the year and there are now enough statistics to give us an idea of trainer/jockey performance.if you look at barry hills for example last year he would have passed on most races but this year hes about 1/13 i think.the reason behind using this years stats also highlights up and coming trainers and jockeys d.shaw has been going great guns this season where last year he was not that impressive.
today for example showed nothing worth considering but this year gave up a few probables.
when no one horse passes filter you have to start looking at the ones who come close or maybe the ones that fail on one point but pass on all others.remember there has got to be a winner,even when no qualifiers.i will give you an example-say you had run the filter and horse a trainer in race type was 5/78-horse b trainer 0/16-horse c jockey 0/12 at distance,which one would you side with?horse a of course,the trainer fails filter but has at least won 5 from 78 races,its a starting point from which you can then look at the horses form in relation to the field.
if everything fails on detailed filter then you could also just concentrate on your master list horses,you know the ones from the top trainer/jockey box that you have cross checked,all of my selections today consisted of horses that had at least made it on to my master list,a word of warning though do not consider anything if it does not make the master list.this is most important it guarantees at least that your trainer/jockey has a minimum 10% overall s/r at course.
i know it sounds confusing at times,it has taken me the best part of six years to get it down to a fine art but i promise you it is the way forward and if you are serious about betting for a living then with patience and hard work you will succeed.
i know its early days yet but surely the results i post up are proof of the effectiveness of my method,today was only the third day of posting up official bets and if anyone had backed everything that i had to the same stake they would now be £1340 up,you tell me where you can earn that sort of money morally and legally in three days.

thanks for your kind comments mate,in answer to your question as to why i stop after reaching target its simply because it gives me a break.if i just carried on day after day it would get to me,the thought of a few days off though gives me the incentive to reach my target.
also i think that if i didnt stop then i would get careless regarding my s/r because if you are continually betting in a never ending circle it can be all to easy to ignore loses because you will think never mind theres always tomorrow.i have a daily and weekly target to reach and even if i am short of target at the end of the week i stop,by having a set ammount to win you can judge your performance at any stage of the week and either step up your efforts as i did today or slow down.
i also have my family to consider,its no fun for them if i am studying form and off racing every day.take last night for example i spent 4 hours going over southwell and another two this morning checking prices etc.it will be the same tonight i will look at tomorrows card and then go off to nottingham to watch them run,you forget just how much time you spend when doing something that you enjoy it is not really like a regular job.
in answer to your other question i have not given it much thought but like i said at the start of this thread i prefer small consistant profits instead of the odd big one,that way i can remain anonymous in the bookies eyes,if you start to put a couple of hundred on one horse to win maybe a grand then you will soon draw unwelcome attention to yourself.
