I have put up with your bitterness for some while, because of your evident failure on matters VDW (I hope you didn't blow all your Christmas money on New Little Bric and Sublimity).

But your remarks above are palpably untrue and defamatory. Either try to substantiate them if you feel you can, or withdraw them, apologise publicly on this forum, and never make another similar comment on this forum or anywhere else.

Or what, you may think.

Or I take action to secure your details from Gummy and institute legal action. I NEVER bluff, have I think it is fair to say a track record of success in finding those I seek, and with a son qualified as both a barrister and solicitor I have the means to take legal matters forward without the expense usually involved.

"I have put up with your bitterness"

Then you admit you are Fulham?

The rest of your post I will deal with when you answer that question, yes or no?
Let's see how honest you really are.

Johnd

I'm taking that as a no and will be writing formally to Gummy this evening as the first step in what, in the event it runs its course, you will find financially painful.

Hi all
Where does this leave the class/form, non/form horses, A/R's ,consistancy combinations etc.

It must be 7 years since the various VDW forums sprung up, over those years we've seen all manner of views and plenty of light hearted banter!

My take on it would be that I feel most sorry for those who, for want of a better word, are classed as the guru's.
It surely must be more of a disappointment to them than the non-believers.
Could it be that those who have attained guru status quite have'nt hit anywhere near the 80% strike rate/heights, and then the doubts start creeping in, and before you know it they want to hunt down that no good, lying, Walter F**cking Mitty, shit for brains, retard!!!

Let's keep it real. If the guru's were hitting 80% I can guarantee you all, there would be no witch hunt.

If the revelation is true, why would it matter!
The guru's make it, sort of pay in their own way (thier own interpretation)
The non-believers feel vindicated.
Everyone's a winner.

One question I would like to ask is, those who over the last 7+ years, who have guarded the secret "class/form combination" (which I believe was the only common ground amoungst the guru's) are you now willing now to divulge it's application , or are you still going to say "it's there if you are prepared to,and have the temperement to work it out".
cheers
Chris.

HENSMAN

Hi Hensman, hope you are well.

I can't get my head around your teacher/pupil ananolgy, surely if VDW was decended from a long line of bull-shitters, how can you even remotely bracket him as the MR Chips of the equine world!
Cheers
Chris.

I don't fully understand your point - ie "decended from a long line of bull-shitters" - unless you know something I don't.

My respect for the knowledge of the man who wrote the letters comes from the content of those letters. To me they make sense at the theoretical level - ie all the chains in his route to the class/form horse seem logical - and, more important, his method works in practice. Indeed one of the most important things VDW wrote was, and I paraphrase but only slightly as I can't immediately put my finger on the passage, don't take my word for it, check things out yourself.

As generally, all one can do is rely on one's mind: if it seems logical and works, it is surely impressive, if it seems illogical and it doesn't work, then the opposite would be true. And without the hypocrisy of false modesty, I am far from being the dumbest chap around. Yet I know that I could not have created VDW's method and therefore I take my hat off to the chap who did, even if (like most of us) he has his flaws.

It is a while since we were in touch, I have your letter of 14 December 2001 in front of me as I type this, and the copy of Jock Bingham's "The Ultimate Conclusion" you kindly sent me. Poor Jock was another flawed character, but I don't think VDW was doing him any less than justice when he referred to him as being "at least half-a-dozen fences clear of the rest of the field crossing the Melling Road second time round". But that was around 1996, and I think there is good evidence on the archived thread that some here have reached a fuller understanding than Jock achieved.

Hi John, you must be totally torn, being that you are a piggy in the middle.
Sandwhiched between the guru's and non-believers!!

Christ that conjures up a picture!

Did'nt VDW say that "in life you always get a positive and negative"
AC/DC springs to life.

Cheers
Chris.

10 people in the gallery

Well done Gummy- the plan is working. However
only wanting to look at one thread must be disconcerting when considering longterm viability.

Just scrap the site, no one needs an ark hive anyway and wander round town with A board round yer neck if you must have the attention.

Hmmm -

regarding your threats against johnd -

I have just been throu yor posts on RSUK , and have noted the abundance of "your "Deleted Posts" "

In particular, - I note the Incredably defamatory post regarding "Epiglotis", and your hopes as to his future - has now been deleted !!!

Presumably - on the advice of your son.

Trust me, he is too late. Big Grin
It would be foolish to believe that I hadn't foreseen this eventuality a long, long time ago, and made due provision for it ever since.

Hi Hensman
Blimey your quick with your response.
It took me 2 hours and 5 cans of Fosters to compile my masterpiece of a post.

"long line of bull-shitters"
Yes we can all pick up on a post, and show how the less litterate of us are prone to expressing ourselves, but surely someone of your standing could get the gist of my posting.
Surely the irony of my first two post's were not lost on you!

I don't fully understand your point- of bringing Jock Bingham into the equation, as you know that was a very sad affair that that ended in tragedy.

Chris.

Not at all. There is an important distinction between abuse (which may or may not be justified in the eye of the abuser), and defamation, as Johnd will be finding out to his cost.

I picked up on that phrase not because of any lack of elegance of expression but because it happened to be potentially germane to an unresolved question and it occurred to me that you might have relevant information. That was clearly an error on my part, so ignore it.

re Jock Bingham, sad indeed. The reference (apart from reminding you of a past contact) was simply to make the point that people can do good work even if flawed in some respects. To the extent that that is true of both, it does not to my mind detract from the quality of their thinking (though Jock was not nearly on a par with VDW).

If I were to ask a question, of all people,I would hope would always be first to give a straight answer.
That is a massive attribute.

At the momment you are sending out very mixed messages.

On the one hand you seem hell bent on outing him and make reference of his "flawed work", then go on and tell us to "respect of the knowledge of the man" and not to "detract from the quality of" others thinking
What is your "PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE"?
Don't answer the above, just answer me this.
Is the class/form combination all you could ever wish for, yes/no will do.
Do you feel totally underwhelmed/overwhelmed by your studies.
This question would also be aimed at anyone else who felt qualified enough to answer, is it like having as much gold as you could possibly eat!!!
cheers
Chris.
