HI Sean,

I have my suspicions who VDW was. Never investigated the possibilities. It doesn't really matter you see. I was invited to enquire on who he was after the "discovery" But Declined.LOL.

Hey I'll tell you what though Sean. That Lee is getting closer to the essence of VDW.

Rab,

Orange and black Jacket in fact, North Face. Three layer breathable Gortex with fully (micro) taped seams, Common now but it wasn't back then. Fully removable (for climate control) liner, quilted with pure goose down. No feathery shite.

Still got the jacket and proud of it, its provided years of good service perfect for those cold midweek jumps fixtures.

I'll put it on again if you want to say hello.

Lee doesn't Know, Like I said he's getting closer these last few months. you wouldn't think so with Dark Corner though. WONDER IF HE BACKED IT NEXT TIME WHEN IT WAS A GOOD THING.

JIB

If VDW is 76-y-o then he was born about 1931. In 1978 he stated that he had been using his "show a profit" staking plan for over 40 years. This means he started using it before 1938 which would make him 6 or 7 at the time. Why would somebody, on only his second letter to a letters forum, make such a statement, if it were not true? Surely, his true age would be nearer 96.

Garston,

Don't think JIB's been around here for a bit.

It would appear VDW said alot of things about himself which were misleading - dutch ww2 prisoner etc - perhaps just to protect his true identity? Who really knows?

Doesn't detract from the work though imo. Smile

Concentrate on that.

Rab,

A v. belated Big Grin

Gfarts,

I am sorry to tell you that VDW has entered in correspondence with Fulham and that his true identity is beyond question. The sad part is that the nature of that correspondence is a great disappointment to its recipient who now admits that the man is no genius.

Hi JIB

Great to see you back - and a good day to choose too! Big Grin

Regarding your comment above:

"The sad part is that the nature of that correspondence is a great disappointment to its recipient who now admits that the man is no genius".

Do you think we've wasted out time? Confused
