Thanks for the kind words chaps however I cant escape the feeling that 'Whom the gods wish to destroy they first make proud'.

And as it happens there are three selections all on the heavy at Lingfield tomorrow, which I dont like as I prefer to snipe one a day to blasting away willy nilly on a saturday!

Still neck on the line or even worse a sword of Damocles dangling over my scrotum:

In chronological order:

1215L Vingis Park. Let me say imediately that this is no superstar and is definitely beatable as has happened in 16 of his 17 starts over obstacles. Nevertheless the odds will reflect this and there are indications that it has been placed to win.

RPR1 by 12pts, TS1 by 11, and as the only OR'd runner ie OR1. However it has always been better than those of tomorrows rivals that have registered ratings have achieved.

Recorded RPR1 by 24pts, recorded TS1 by 18pts.

What I like is that the horse has been dropped from 8k and grade A course lto to 3k and grade B tomorrow. T/C 0/0, T/J 1/2.

155L The Listener is RPR1 by 12pts and TS1 by 29pts. It too has always been better than its rivals being on recorded RPR1 by 18pts and Recorded TS1 by 32pts.

T/C is 3/17, and T/J 15% for chases.

230L Form is a bit thin on the ground here but nevertheless what there is points v definitely to My Immortal.

RPR1 by 6pts and TS1 by 32pts it too has by far the best of the recorded ratings RPR1 by 8pts and TS1 by 25pts.

T/C 1/4, T/J 9%.

Hiya John all,
Could you explain which part of the ratings you are looking at when you quote RPR1 TS1 OR1.
Are they the adjusted ratings, latest ratings, or past years ratings?.

Only looked at one race so far tomorrow the 12.55 at Cheltenham & reduced the race to three namely Blue Superbe, Le Seychellois & Made In Japan.
Ive Plumped for Le Seychellois by elimination but was expecting better than 3.15 for the win & 1.44 the place so have no bet it as yet.

Cheltenham looks a "Minefield"

-

JIB again looks to have "the edge"
-
The only other one is at Don -in the 2.20 -

"Night Sight" - has been knocking at the door - the trainer dosn't inspire confidence tho' .

Walter

re - Topspeed - never look at "adjusted" Ratings - Perkup when - Latest equals "Best" - and is "Miles" clear !!!

if there has been a steady "improvement " in the last few ratings - then even better .

JiB: as your method is based on being clear top rated all ways, I suggest also clear favourite in the forecast as an additional "rating". I believe all your winners this week have been forecast favourites. (It would also be nice to do away with another element of VDW vagueness).

Hi all
just my drunken musings.
last year because of its bumper run i followed Vingis Park off cliffs. no doubt it has been placed to win (Dartnells supposedly a betting stable)but i have lost all faith in it
The Listener head & shoulders above anything else in the race breeding lines show a propensity towards heavey ground, 3m should be its trip. probably my banker of the day
My immortal i'm afraid i havent looked at the race
12.55 Chelt i like MADE IN JAPAN alot i think he has the beating of Le Seychellois & Bleu Superbe he is a good jumper lets see if he can turn that promise into winning form. my NB for the day
Night Sight sorry again aint looked
all the best
Larry
btw i do like Youre Special 2moro only trouble is its taking a jump up in class whereas professional loser Lou du moulin mas is taking a massive drop in class JIB has LDMM been placed to win if not i'll definately be plumping for YS

OK,
The only other race i am interested in at Cheltenham is the Bula Hurdle, ive narrowed it down to 3 namely Harchibald, Intersky Falcon & Sporazene.
Intersky Falcon is a fair bet at 11.5 to win & 3.4 to place so that`s how i`ll go.

Le Seychellois is now available at 3.5 to win & 1.53 to place but im hanging-off till morning as it may drift out even further.

WP/Rab

Harchibald is the clear class horse, and given the circumstances his lto run was as good as any of these could muster. He wouldn't be a bet as he has shown before he doesn't like the Cheltenham hill, but not one to oppose lightly either.
The previous race, the RCM, does show a clear 'winner in the race', but how many will find it?
