Hi Investor

Your remarks to johnd are out of order. Quite honestly, you shouldn't be able to write stuff like that and get away with it.

He had expressed his point of view. And you can express yours without resorting to abuse. You don't like it when it is aimed at you, (and you shouldn't have to put up with it either). But similarly, you shouldn't do it yourself.

If someone wrote like that on the new site, what do you think should happen to them?

Your, (Fulham's actually), interpretation of the method; my elbow....................Pro, my arse!

You see, I can tell the difference! Big Grin Big Grin

Lee

It wasn't my intention to suggest that it was pure luck on your part that you came to the conclusion you did, to do so would demean your obvious knowledge of the subject.
However, unless I am totally mistaken, your more recent posts indicate that the answer you arrived at was relatively simple in concept, and could have been verified from far fewer of his selections than many deem necessary.
If you feel it necessary, I will highlight the posts that led me to this train of thought, I would also understand any reticence to discuss it further.

On a subject totally unrelated to racing or VDW, (Though, in both cases, it would seem, inspired by the latter), would you be prepared to enter into a philosophical discussion, by email rather than on a public board, on what is apparently a very similar outlook on life generally?

Hi John,

It is very possible that someone could discover the answer having studied far fewer examples than I did; indeed it figured in my own mind long before I'd reached the end of my studies. However, and it's a big however, until I'd confirmed my thinking with each and every example how could I be sure that I was right? Surely there is only one way to confirm ones findings, unless of course one is achieving such a high strike rate?

It would good to chat – I'm sure my email address is in my profile.

Id like to ask some of you guy`s how you manage to juggle studying VDW with a family life as well?. Have to think that doing both would be very difficult.
P.S. Grundy where did your last post go to?, thought you were quite within your right`s to say that.

Hi Walter

I really do struggle to be honest. I have a very full-time occupation too, so fitting everything in is nigh-on impossible.

Whatever happens, I make sure we have some good family time at the weekend. But during the week, I say "thank God" for Eastenders, Holby City and Casualty etc... 'cos that's when I can get onto the PC to go through the form without feeling guilty! Big Grin

It isn't long enough to do the AR table stuff tho', which is why I have found other 'quick' ways of assessing the class thing.

One get`s the impression that he was not!.
He come`s across as a caring person though judging by some of his posts. If i remember correctly he went to the trouble to recommended Shark oil for arthritis?.

Walter,

If you love someone enough you will put up with their little intricacies! If you don't have the support of your family then you stand no chance whatsoever of making racing pay. I promised when I married my wife that I would always take care of her and our family, and to differing degrees I have done that over the years!

It's a good job she loves me, that's all I have to say.

Im fascinated by this one ingredient that ties all the examples together.
`Once you find it you will have the same horses as myself`.
Am i right in thinking that the answer lies in consistency & a little forgiveness.

BC & Lee,
Great to see that your families can work alongside your other passions.
Now there`s a word i love `Passion` lol.
Lee, you offered me the chance to be your sorcerer`s apprentice a few months back which i stupidly declined.
Id like to take you up on that offer now if i may?.

Walter,

Firstly you won't get something for nothing. Please don't mistake this for me wanting something in return for what I give, but instead think of it as YOU getting something in return for what YOU give. Only then will you appreciate, as you should, whatever you are able to gain. Like packing up smoking, you really have to want to do it.

Feb 19.

AW VDW atype attempt.

I don't think this effort will win many accolades, but here is my shortlist for

215, Wolver, £11.9K C1 hcp, 5f.

No Time
Hidden Dragon
Treasure Cay
Magic Glade.

Of these,my personal pick is Magic Glade EW.

No Time strikes me as being well ahead on A/R, but as I don't know the final VDW type clincher, I've just taken Magic, bc I think he's a faster horse, even though badly drawn.

I think Baron Windrush has a lot going for him today at Haydock although im a little concerned that he is going up in o/r & actual weight from his last run.
He is an improving young horse though with a trainer who has done well with this sort of horse in the past Young Hustler & Bindaree to name but two.

5 decent meetings today, and lots of 'nearly' bets, but in the end I'll have to settle for just one, LE PASSING in the 1.40L.
Did have a good look at KOCK DE LA VESVRE in the 3.50U, but as he was entered off a much lower weight, will leave him to run.
Iris's gift has been thrown in the deep end over too short a trip, if he can jump well at this speed, he promises to be some chaser.

Lee
Thanks for the reply. Will be in touch in the next few days.

I wonder if HARDY EUSTACE is back on our 'resident professional's' list of horses to follow yet, and if he considers him to be back 'in form' after his recent easy win against mediocre opposition? Smile
