Very Good TC

I like Michael Winner as he speaks his mind and doesn't care who he upsets in the process.
Come to think of it he could be Investor.

Sometimes the Irish form can be difficult to evaluate. There has been a huge change in the ground conditions and often times horses are run over both codes at this time of the year, which can add to the confusion.

I noticed Double Vodka running today, takes me back to Lee's postings last summer where Double Vodka was given as a good thing,I was pleasantly surprised to notice some differences in his profile in relation to todays race and those races last year.

Time we tried another VDW type go:

210 Goodwood, £29K class 1 hcp, 1m 1f

I'll get in first before Incestor and say that this would not be a betting race for me; I see nothing outstanding.

Besides, the speed horses don't match the selections, so I'd be uncertain about the outcome.

DEFI 21 g
Notnowcato 13 g
Jonquil 10 gc
Enforcer 7c

A lot of 2yo form and not a lot of winning form.

Stoute is my favourite trainer, but not much to go on yet.

Enforcer is good on speed.

Dettori is good at Goodwood.

I'll ditch , and go with the other three, with a guess that Jonquil will come out on top or come stone last!

Pipedreamer,
It`s the vdw collection forum i was on about last night.
A guy on there called (Monster) has revealed he was (Classform) who used to contribute to the Raceform Update years ago when i took the paper.
Ive had a few e-mails about the piece i put up of Classforms, so to help you guys out in particular you need to go back to (oct 7th 03) on the vdw contnd thread, times of postings below.

11.21am "When it`s time to take the money"
2.02 pm "VDW intended to give something back"
3.54 pm "race 4148 Missing data"

I think Monster/Classform was talking about a different method again though on the other forum yesterday mainly to do with breeding & trainers habits which should be right up the street of some of the dosage guys here on the gummy vdw thread.

Cheers wp,will have a look.

seanrua I thought Stoutes in the first at Goodwood was a lay,the weight made its task very difficult,it is seldom that they can overcome it.

Yes, PD, Notnow was never in the race. I think Stoute uses Fallon when he wants a winner.

Jonquil wasn't lucky, but showed a bit of promise, I thought.

Enforcer was great!

I noticed I left out the name of the one I ditched; it was Defi - the " VDW" selection.
Hopeless!

Hi Ectoo,

Your comment on TRF about the going descriptions being mostly bollix is very true.

As you say, the error must be compounded over and over by form students who are looking at years of misinformation in the record books.

Whatever the going was yesterday at Gdwd, I haven't worked out what went wrong with Notnow.
Perhaps Winston thought he was going too well!

There again, perhaps they " slipped" on the firm, good, soft, wet, dry ground?

I'm fkd if I know, but I expect Investor does.

Btw, where are all the experts gone?

aye Sean

that dickhead on there who keeps decrying speed figures as error data and the form book as correct is waste of snap and fresh air. the boards are full of this generalistic shite that gets spouted, very few actually look at a subject and ask questions.

You ask questions and want to learn, I like that, but you are wasting your time hear Sean. No one has posted here for a bit because the selections that Gummy posted didn't do well imho.

Thats a shame really because I thought when Gummy started putting them up things might improve here.

From what I can see it's just an after race boys club with a restricted membership here. I bet they all eat Bris The Butcher's meat as well Clown..thats probably it..they have all got nose bleeds so can't post Evil Grin

Basically once actual selections go up pre race the VDWERS disappear once the results pre race don't match the years of after race claims.

Gummy has done such as you a favour..you can now see that this way isn't go to make you rich, hence the disappearance of the worthies.

Take the hint, broaden your horizons Sean, there is so much more than this indoctrined dogma these people keep worshipping. Leave them to puffing their chests out post race about selections they have apparantly backed pre race.

Yes, Ectoo, I sometimes think I need a black belt in Yoga to be able to both broaden my horizons, AND narrow the field at the same time!

However, the positive effect has been that I look far more closely at
several " useful" pointers now.
A year ago I didn't.

Luckily, I realised, at once, that there probably is NO MAGIC, NO MISSING LINK, NO HIDDEN MESSAGE, and if there were, no fkr is going to blurt it out on here, or anywhere else.

The PROFILING - as explained very well by Cabbie - can be a great help. It makes us look more thoroughly at things.

There's a lot to be said for having a go; it's like dancing or boxing. You've got to get out there ( or in there) to find out, know and learn.
That's why i have a go at selection - here , there and everywhere.
I feel there MUST be a REASON why everybody else is much better at it. Never mind the ould fkn formbooks, we can learn from the successes of fellow punters.
Long have i asked myself, how the fk did that old cnt in the bookies get the winner again?

Though, just as frustrated and envious as the rest, I tried to hide my feelings and keep an eye on the geezer's moves.
It takes ages, but eventually, we can get to see what the successful punters are up to.

Nothing very startling, no ould books to buy, but the main thing is, it takes is TIME.

Now time is life, so perhaps we should be careful about wasting it.
However, so long as I learn a wee bit, I feel my time is not wasted, so I still come in here now and again.

Personally, I admit that Swish had a great and beneficial effect on me when he said, "SPEED FIGURES, SPEED FIGURES, SPEED FIGURES!"
( on here, about a thousand and one posts back).

I don't know how to work out the numbers like you, and I accept that Topspeed is flawed, BUT it has helped me, so that's near enough for now.

This time next year, if I'm still sucking air, I'm pretty sure I'll be a helluva lot wiser again. So I'm quite content!

Actually, this year, 05, is the first year EVER, in over 40 years, that I've managed to stay in profit!
It's nothing much, but, it means a lot to me, and, quite honestly, I've learnt so much from Gummy's, that, no matter what happens, I'll always be glad I looked in.
