But were they bets?

Wink

Pre race - I doubt it.

If they are that bad, post race - no, had they won - yes.

VDW no doubt would concur - there will be some clause in sub paragraph h line 3 letter 24 of pamphlet 4.

Sorry for the last negative post.

Especially to Investor who has actually helped me, thank you.

However, even off board and by email in private there are those that can't make their bloody minds up. I suggest Pipedreamer knows his stuff, reply is nearly there. Next email Pipedreamer does know his stuff.

I'm given a VDW race I pick 2 horses from it (one of which wins) am then told VDW wouldn't have looked at it and it wasn't a VDW race - for fecks sake why ask me to look at the race (and find the winner!).

Given another race pick 2 and the winner is one of the 2, but then asked would VDW have played. I don't f**kin know, I don't think anyone else does if it is this cloak and dagger. For fecks sake I'm given 2 VDW races before the off, I select the winner from 2 runners I narrow down to and apparently neither would have been looked at.

I'm just looking for the candid cameras now!

I like the look of Kadarann 720W.

Its now over a year since his last win, but now on a lower mark on his best ground against some of the easiest opposition hes seen recently, he looks placed to win.

Spanish don for me as well,
Owner/trainer have over 150 points profit and Elsworth at course is 131 points,ok SD did win @100/1 last year,Take this away it still leaves very good profits,
1 worry is it does not run well after a lay off but i'll take a chance

Spanish Don seems to a very popular selection on here today but I'm afraid it's not for me.

I agree he has a lot of positives and is arguably the class form horse but is he really a form horse? His last race at Lingfield was certainly a downturn and you can make excuses for it. Maybe he didn't act on the AW? Maybe it was the culmination of a hard season? Who knows?

David Elsworth inherited this horse from Philip Mitchell and got a win at the first time of asking but only after his handicap mark had dropped all the way down to 75. It was a masterful piece of training by him to win the Cambridgeshire off a mark of 95, 20lb more than his first win with him. This win got him raised to a mark of 100 though. What did David Elsworth do next though, he put him into level weight listed events. He didn't do this to gain black type as the horse is a gelding so is this his way of saying he can't get any more improvement to win off this higher mark and he either needs to run level weight events or run him back down the handicap (which will take a while). Either way would you want to be on him today?

Also consider his first time out record. Admittedly David Elsworth only started last season with him but he finished 14th of 27. Before that with Philip Mitchell he finished 8th of 9 and 4th of 7 first time out.

Has he been placed to win today or is he being a prepared for a level weight event further down the line. I'm not sure, are you?

I accept this is a negative post and I can't offer an alternative as I'm not prepared to look past Spanish Don but I'm certainly prepared to bet him.

Good luck to everybody who does though and I hope I'm left with egg on my face as he wins for you.

Just re-read that part of my earlier post.

Of course I meant to say:
I'm not prepared to look past Spanish Don but I'm certainly NOT prepared to bet him.
