Hi Blackcat,
Ive looked at Jackson`s race & also note that he is a positive on the exchanges, here are my thoughts on this one.
He was dropped a long way from 20k to 3k last time but still failed finishing 2nd to Bob Bob Bobin (decent enough stick). The winning rider that day J. Tizzard said his horse was dossing in front & the track was wrong way round for his horse.
The 20k attempt was a fair 12l 2nd to Brewster at Cheltenham (Senor Sedona in arrears) which is decent enough form compared to the standard set in this race.
Prior to that the (8yr) old was 2nd to patches 6k race on good ground over todays c/d. Ground has turned soft at Wincanton.
On a more positive note Trainer A.King won this race last year & real dangers or other horses capable of winning are either thin on the ground
or still unexposed over this distance.Personally i dont see why they are going in heavy on this one maybe they think it`s a weak race?.

I dont do jumps but couldnt resist having a look at Jackson
I hope he wins as his collateral form is littered with horses that have run in classy races
Even in his last race A £3400 E grade he was beaten by Bob Bob bobbin who previously had run in a 20 grand A race beaten 5 lengths

No disrespect to you, in fact, far from it, but you really do need to understand the history of those 'Angels' from the other threads.
Mtoto, for one, constantly bleats about the abuse, yet very rarely posts on here without it. Probably one of the low points in this threads history was his fued with Three Legs, when he threatened to give him a 'good kicking'.
Charming fellow?
Barney, who has the unique distinction of being barred from this thread twice, once for a torrent of abuse which would have made Satan wince.
Nice bloke?
Investor, another to cross swords with Three Legs, ( A former highly amusing and perceptive member), who is so shy and reserved that he once admitted to punching a hole in a door in his angst against this thread.
Well-balanced type?
Fulham, the architect and orchestrator of the private thread which almost caused the downfall of this thread, its members drawn exclusively and surreptitiously from our host's hard work.
Well meaning bloke?
Crock, over the years has contributed nothing to this thread but a few sniping posts, yet a co-conspirator against its interests.
Salt of the Earth?
Mr Ed, another infrequent poster whose contribution amounted to nothing, except to pour scorn on others.
Asset to the forum?
Grundy, who only ever posts begging letters, without any inclination of contributing.
A star member?

A motley crew, who, like a band of gypsies, move themselves from one home to another, little caring about the mess they leave in their wake, caring only for their own interests.

How long do you think they'll last this time?

10 Feb Result

Cardinal Venture won at 9/2

Other two unplaced.

Dutching the three ( VDW style?) would have paid.

Encouragingly, for those punters who do use OR, the method of adding the last three race OR of each runner did produce the winner:

CV 291
TQ 285
Glaramara 270.

The one I thought best bet was hopeless!

BTw, steady on there, johnd, with that stereotypical view of Travellers; it may be against the law to make a comparison with VDWers!

Hi JIB
Thanks for that.

Hi WP
I got stuffed on Jackson! Hope you laid it off. I was also wrong about Osiris. And the other 2 selection I put up elsewhere (incl. an 8/13F) were both 2nd. Great day!

Do you know what springs to mind...

A charm backfiring!

Hi Johnd
I don't really want to wade deeper into the river, but I can only speak as I find. My dealings with Mtoto, Fulham and even Investor do not match up with your descriptions. Please don't take this the wrong way. Message boards are an easy place to rub people up the wrong way. And once started, it usually escalates I've noticed.

You are usually a very level headed poster, (and one I did regret having a 'pop' at on one occasion). Don't you think it may be best to leave the past in the past now?

As you point out, there is a long history. One that I am pleased not to have witnessed first hand!

Cheers

BlackCat Eek

The Writers Perspective

History is not black and white. It is written in the colour of the writers' ink.

What the historian has written may well represent the truth. But it is their truth, written from their view of the incidents. Another writer using a different coloured ink may record a alternative 'truth'.

Epi,

You come across as bitter, but well balanced .You have a chip on both shoulders, IF you could put into action what you preached you would be far happier and it would come across as such. There would be no need for the spite and vindictiveness that some of your posts exhibit. Relax in the knowledge that no one is going to tell anyone **** all worthwhile.

Hi Epiglotis

No no no no no no no no no no no.

You have a lot to learn about cats. Clearly, you have been mixing with too many pigs. Allow me to educate you. There are a few privileged cats who are black. All black. These individuals enjoy continual good fortune, (even whilst they may appear to be losing on occasion. Cats are far more reliable than horses. For instance, a cat won't pretend to like you just to get a polo mint).

Those less fortunate may have some white. Perhaps a paw. Or maybe a bib. Less fortunate still will be more white than black. And finally, others, who have no black at all.

However, cats can be found in a multitude of colours and to add to the richness of their individual coats, will have numerous pattern types, each as individual as the cat in question.

Here are some of the colour types you may find on my cousins.

Albino, Amber, Apricot, Beige, Fawn, Black, Blue, Brown, Burmese "Brown" (called Sable/Seal), Caramel, Caramelised blue, cafe-au-lait colour (biscuit colour), cool toned bluish fawn, metallic sheen, Champagne, Burmese/Tonkinese, Chestnut, Chocolate, Cinnamon, Cream, Buff (dilute of red), Ebony, Fawn, Light Lilac, Frost, Gold, Honey, Indigo, Dark blue or deep grey, Lavender, Warm blue-brown, Pinkish frosty grey (dove grey), Lilac, Lavender, Light Amber, Pink-beige to fawn, with blue-grey nose leather, paw pads and eye rims. (Kittens are born blue and brighten as they mature), Light Brown, Light chocolate, Burmilla Milk chocolate, Light Lilac, Natural Tonkinese, Peach, Australian Mist pink-brown, Platinum, Red, Rich ginger red (poor reds are yellowish due to other genes), Sable, Burmese dark brown, Seal, Siamese dark brown, Taupe, White (Non-albino white, this is the absence of colour), Yellow.

For verification of the above, together with further information on patterns etc., please visit Cat Colours

Dr Watson,

Hopefully, you will get over the crazy irrationality before the big day. Or alternatively you can simply enjoy your iridesce until then.
