I've never seen the like. If i were young and just starting work, I'd give it all up to hotfoot over to the Investor guru's thread.


What a fool I was, I thought the "key" was in the old formbooks ( £8000) and, all the time, the answer was to be found on the letters page of the good old Beano!

There is no doubt about it this forum has gone down hill the past few months. Nobody knows that better than me. You have only to read my numerous posts and threads on that subject. But I am sure if we all pull together in the same direction we can get it back on its feet.Also if you have any constructive suggestions as to how we can improve it email Gummy with them.Two heads are better that one.

To be quite honest with you,I personally don't give 2 shits about gummy or his forum.He has absolutely no idea how to moderate it and because of his incompetence he has let what was a very good thread be destroyed by idiots.They will come over to the other vdw forum but the moderator there treats posters as his friends and won't allow these people who's sole aim is to wreck other peoples enjoyment flourish.Which is exactly what Gummy has done.So to finalise i din't gve a monkey's no more about this thread or the forum itself and i wouldn't bat an eye lid if it fell into oblivion.Hope that answers your question.

Thank you for your reply. There is one thing all members have to remember they dont have to post on the forum if they dont want to. As I say I just hope we can get things on an even keel again.

your quite right people don't have to post if they don't want to.But they should have been STOPPED when they became abusive,Which is what gummy didn't do.He let it carry on and on and eventually you have what is there now.Which can only be described as complete trash.You have posters who say they have no interest in vdw but they follow others around on sites like R.S.U.K trying to ridicule them,I'm not talking of childen out of the kindergarten here i'm talking of grown men,Absolutely ****ing ridiculous.I am as guilty as sin for being abusive but this has been brought on by myself i know that.But it is only because of the way i have been treated that i react the way i do.I respect those who respect me and i'm affraid to say that they don't respect me nor i them.

At least he knows how to moderate a forum so like minded people can get some enjoyment out of it.I don't care if Webmaster wants to make some money out of selling books or what have you,I am interested in vdw's methods and sharing and trying to understand other peoples interpretations.And i'm sure you will agree that the postings are put up in an adult way and not like something out of Seanrua's beano.

it may be sickly and sterile to you but after 4 years on here it suits me fine.There are plenty of knowledgable posters who understand vdw.And that is what want.i'm fed up of all the shit that gets slung on here,On a majority of occasions for no reason just pure lack of understanding.So in answer to your question.No,I think it's a well run forum for those INTERESTED in vdw.

I find it strange that these people believe in VDW but if somebody says they know him or were married to him they dont entertain the possibility for a second. I reckon this is fairly strong evidence that belief in VDW is a quasi-mystical affair, not a flesh and blood VDW but an Authurian figure giving the believers the feelings of purpose they might suppose were felt by knights questing for the grail, or in Palomedes case, the beast.

Another amazing thing about Investor's unending talents is the speed with which he has managed to pick up VDW methodology and use it to find winner after winner, yet still have time to come on this thread with many a well-thought-out comment.

Perhaps, i hadn't understood properly, but I thought that punters who made a living using VDW, say, like Mtoto, spent considerable time working on their bets, and would often be pushed for time.

May I ask, Investor, do you use a short-cut version of VDW or are you just that much faster an operator than everybody else?

I looked right back at some of your earlier posts and it seems you did pretty well with your selections before you dedicated your life to VDW.

Whatever's happened, it's hard to believe you are the same fella at all. An amazing change!

I trust the " Ability Rating" is still an important factor? I hope so, bc it's about the only bit that I can follow ( well, nearly).

You are quite correct! Someone claiming to be VDWs widow wrote to the other forum a simple request to read the contributions of her late husbands fans and since then I have had no peace.

Garstonf has awarded me an almost superhuman intelligence reading vastly obscure academic tomes, whilst fulham accused me of taking up investors hobby of cross-dressing.

The idea that the post might be genuine just doesnt occur to them. I, at least, offered her a polite welcome but so far I am the only one to have done so.

If she writes again and seems real enough I shall try and poach her over here as no doubt the hostility on the other forum will be quite frightening for what would be an elderly lady.
