It shows at 9.45am on mine, is Scotland still on GMT?
![]() It seems that Lee and I are in agreement; that VDW's class ratings are every bit as valid now as they were then. Hardly surprising really, when we are both prepared to believe what he said, while many think they know better, and put their own slant on things. |

Staking is still a problem for me,any views on the optimum staking plan for VDW type bets.VDW's staking plan as outlined in his methods,is it still as good as any,and what percentage of the bank would you guys advocate.

PD,
I use a variation of vdw`s staking plan on the odds-on placed types ive been putting up over the last few days. It`s not a staking plan as such as it`s basic in the extreme which suits me perfectly. Here`s how ive been going about this one: Stakes are £10-£20-£30-£40-£50 = £150 Bank = £900 (6 x £150). That is the maximum amount of money i am prepared to lose on this one during this year, first time tried. Bank 1 = £150 The aim is to win £150, bank it, and continue using initial bank, so effectively as with any betting strategy it`s basically a numbers game. I know what my max expenditure is for the year and any amount cleared above this is profit. Should state that ive lost 2 banks already but im just shy of £200 up as of today, so it`s going ok. Im looking to accumulate min odds of 6/4 on a series of bets with these odds-on shot`s.Ive seen it stretching to 5/2-11/4 when in trouble, so it`s all pretty flexible & riskay lol. If i can win approx £500 the first year on this then it will have done the job. |

I should add that Black Rock (M.Jarvis) is the first wager on a new series to place tonight in the last at Sandown.
Currently trading at (1.32) on at (1.39) but must state that im a wee bit weary when the ground is so soft & a horse is trying a longer trip for the first time. The selection method thus far dictates that i should be on however so who am i to argue. |

I gave out 2 horses from the notebook last week namely Lago D`orta & Red Lancer.
The former is without an entry at this time. Red Lancer runs in the 2.45 at Epsom tomorrow 10f £47k, 3rd attempt at this race, three different trainers. Often get`s caught out of his ground in the class running on late over the distance, has`nt won once in last 35 attempts at the racetrack?. Also engaged in the 5.05 at Epsom Sat 12f 25k 8-03, the handler has declined the entry however?. Taking a gander at last 3 races makes interesting reading from a market perspective. 3rd last race 24k - sp 16/1 2nd last race 11k - sp 33/1 last race 5k - sp 15/2 47k tomorrow Red Lancer 11/2 2nd fav in Racing Post F/C, why? VDW wrote, in Racing In My System;
Most punters haven't a clue what's going on, but those who know the game can't be fooled so easily. How many times have you witnessed a so called 'good thing' come unstuck, only to find it in the winner's enclosure next time, when nobody wanted to back it? A case in point is Day Flight, 7.20, Goodwood tonight. Beaten at 2/1 on lto, he should win this comfortably. 13/8 isn't much of a price, so it's hardly a case of no one wanting to back it, but will hopefully go a little higher at some stage. |

Ive got him for a place at 1.38 JD, the horse is entered up in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot so if he`s not placed here tonight they can shelve any aspirations they might have at g2 level.

Ive already had Scarlet Heart at 1.34 in the Bath 7.30 but did`nt have the time to post it up.
The next is Passing Hour in the 8.55 at Goodwood matched at 1.36, so we have £26 rolling on. |

Day Flight ran like a crab, pity about your place roll-up, today's looks a lot safer.Don't do place betting, but that looks a hell of a price against an actual of around 1/5. pd Probably, VDW would have seen Authorised as a good thing; clear c/f horse and everything else lines up too. Don't know that he would have bet it though, as his odds-on selections were few and far between? Wyatt Earp, 3.30 Epsom,(around 10/1) would have been much more his price range imo. |

I wish you luck with Wyatt Earp. His record over 5f reads 02046, while his record on gd/sf reads 07695. Hardly consistent over either distance or on going, but it does look a tough handicap to crack. Oldtimer |
