I was miles out yesterday also, but Richard Hughes what a poor ride, cost me plenty.

I have had Rio Reva on the short list since the Lincoln, and hopefully today will be the day with optimum conditions,so a win bet for me.

Pipedreamer re - R.Hughes, never had a bet on the horses yesterday as i was involved with the football & took in the Wembley Final later.
Watched the replay of the race though & my post race thought`s were that the horse was`nt off.
Sure Day Flight will win another decent race this season.
Already given a view on these type`s of jockey`s on a thread of Alph`s.
Give me N.Callan & P.Mulrennan any day of the week.
BTW while im on my high horse Spencers wife, Big Mac (with his out of date tic-tac signals) along with Lesley Graham, are all well past their sell by date on C4.
The fe-male with the lap-top continues to look uncomfortable also.
Nick Luck however is the most fluent presenter on any racing TV station at the moment & deserves an anchor role somewhere, he is in a different league altogether imho.

Never mind the losers JD they are all part & parcel of the game, you know that of course.
Will be out most of tomorrow so going to get my tuppence-happeney worth in tonight.
It`s only been a glance but that`s all it takes sometimes, B.Meehan has two 3 yr old maidens running late on at the evening meetings. Anything above 1.20 a place would be acceptable on either.

7.50 Wolverhampton Zach`s Harmoney (F.Spencer)
8.40 Windsor Siamese Cat (F.Dettori).

Here`s hoping the Frankie`s wont conspire to get these kicked out of the first 3.
1.20+ was available for both this evening although not to much money.

Zach`s Harmoney 2nd 1.36 taken Smile
Siamese Cat 2nd 1.32 taken Smile.
Better than 1/3 for these two to place.

A couple for the notebook Lago D`orta (Ran unplaced Today) & Red Lancer.
Red Lancer runs this evening Leicester 7.30 both should be winning soon enough.

well done Walter,I am pretty sure I missed a typical VDW in the shape of Sound of Nature at Leicester tonight,if anyone can verify it was a VDW bet I would appreciate it.

Can't really see it, pd.
Though there are probably 4 or 5 reasons why he ran better last night, it would be wrong to take the racereader's comment about the "unsuitably lightning fast ground" at Yarmouth at face value, as the horse had won its previous race at Leicester in very similar conditions, (RP time based ground was 'firm' for that race).

Ponte 9.00 Zonta Zitkala is available at 1.43 to place.
The horse has been lugging left in his races so hopefully the course will suit.
Trainer & Jockey stats aint great at the track but he should be thereabouts.

PD,
Sorry i would`nt know if Sound Of Nature was a vdw bet or not.
What do you make of this statement by Lee some time back:
VDW took a completely different view of class, which related to the prizemoney on offer and prizemoney already won?.

Wouldn't be sure of the context Lee said that in, but I can be sure prize money does make a difference, even in the same grade of race.
Take a look at the 3.45, Haydock, a £62k 1m h'cap; a 0-104 on paper, but guaranteed to have runners in it which will prove much better than handicappers, in due course.Last year it was won by Anna Pavlova, with Sir Gerard in 2nd; like most high value races, in whatever grade, it will prove a constant source of future winners.

Sierra Vista, Hayd., 2.30, looks a good thing, and Paddy Powers stand out with their 6/1.
Have a good day. Smile

JD the context of the post that the statement was taken from can be found on the Archived VDW Thread 07/03/03 post time by Lee at 9.45 am.
If someone could put it up here (dont know how to myself) it could prove worthwhile, im sure it backs up your own thoughts in bold above.

If the Irish Guineas is run on anything like fast ground next week, she should win just as easily as at Newmarket; 3 runs in 2 weeks or not.
If you are to understand VDW properly, you must acquaint yourself with this aspect.

Point taken, I hope, and this b*llocks about her running in races too close together shown for the guessing game that VDW had no part of?

Walter

Is this the one?
