Thanks chaps!

Galero is onr of Mark Howards horses to follow from his excellent 'One Jump Ahead' book. I had a small stake saver on him at 5.4.

Jib
Craven was entered at Wetherby Sat as well as today at Huntingdon (flat RH track) set to carry 11st 11lbs on both occassions.
He has won at Wincanton (tight flat RH track) & Newbury (flat LH galloping track) versatile sort then.
Craven rallied when driven on his latest start getting up close home, they think he will be suited by a step up in trip.
Getting back to Craven`s double entry, VDW made mention of Wayward Lad in the Little Owl race Quote:

Win of Brighton made a great deal of play about the fact that the trainer (Dickenson) had sent Wayward Lad for this event in preference to another engagement, but failed to realise second place money was greater than winning prize money in the other race. Also it was a better race for bringing on a novice.

Id like to ask if anyone knows of a site that gives out all place penalty values 1,2,3,4th etc?.

In the best tradition of VDW - not for me!

Okay, only broke even on the day because of stakes - but that isn't so bad.

daft race to be playing in - (hands and heel conditional amateurs handicap) -

but - Jeffersons only other runner today ( 1.35 Weth) "Polar Gunner", also looks to have an outstanding chance.

-

re - Oscar Park - given J Howard Johnsons 60% record ar Warwick, and the fact that it is his only runner - I am inclined to Dutch this with Circassian

L,

My first priority is to find a proven ability difference to the next best horse. I then try and see if its got the feel of a placed to win animal.

In some cases at bigger prices (Portavadie was 10/3 last night) I'm happy just for it to have the feel of being placed to compete.

Iron Man has a lot to make up improvement wise if it is to match what Portavadie has already achieved.

Portavadie is in 'One Jump Aheads' list to follow and the opinion is that his ideal conditions are 16f - 20f and good and soft.

A horse has hindlegs at the back and forelegs at the front, two and four makes six, six is an even number but an odd number of legs for a horse, the only number that is both even and odd is infinity, so a horse has an infinite number of legs. How come VDW never mentioned this?

I myte be dyslexic and a poor speller, but fortunately for me it doesnt affect my intelligence, thus I have no need to pretend.

Thanks again for the laugh.

Which pragmatic race was vdw on about? NO ONE EVER MENTIONS THIS HORSE.
