Just when you thought the end was insight, the jocky of Cant Pick for Toffee has revived himself after his mishap and is running headlong after him and Discussion, the others are well out of it some four laps behind. Cant Pick For Toffee's jocky is throwing everything at Discussion who is now totally revitalized and on the bit, the ex Cant Pick for Toffee's Jockey has made significant headway to be only a length behind, oh my goodness......if only the jocky was in the race....an absolutely stunning piece of race running..Cant pick for toffee's jocky is gesturing at the ex jocky to jump aboard in the hope that the extra incentive of two sticks a whipping will overcome the class of Discussion..... they are now inciting more members of the crowd to give it a good kick as it it passes to hurry the old yak around....surely the extra weight will tell?and the cunning stunt of two jockeys and several trackside helpers will prove to be a forlorn hope

The contenders have all taken a pit stop in the forge to be re-shod. However, there is a problem. They are sweating up.

The forge on this forum track regularly becomes too hot for the workers and horses to make suitable progress.

The runners, riders, trainers, owners, stewards and the crowd have all met up in the forge to munch mince pies and sip sherry from dainty glasses. (Except the horses of course, who are guzzling it from a bucket).

The temperature in the forge has cooled considerably, and apart from the sound of chomping and slurping, there is peace. Just the occasional murmour about the role of the trainer.

Stony Silence has moved towards the door and when the race resumes, will be the first to show...

The race resumed. Stony Silence was first to show. Welcome to the Club stuck his nose in front, but it was a brief effort before Discussion took over. But as so often before, his jumping let him down and Can't Pick for Toffee pricked her ears and leapt to the fore. However, in the heavy going that has been a feature of this track, Can't Pick for Toffee slipped approaching the water jump, and a surprise contender took control...

...And Can't Pick for Toffee was all over the place at that one
